这样，律法是与神的应许反对吗？断乎不是！若曾传一个能叫人得生的律法，义就诚然本乎律法了。

然則律與上帝之許相反乎、非也、若賜以能致生之律、則義誠由律矣、

然則律法與天主之許相反乎、非也、若賜以能致生之律法、則人必由律法可得稱義、

然則律法豈與恩諾相牴牾乎？無是理也。蓋所賜之律法、苟能予人以生命、則吾人所恃以成義者、誠在律法之中矣。

Is the law, therefore, opposed to the promises of God? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that could impart life, then righteousness would certainly have come by the law.

So is the law opposed to God’s promises? Certainly not! What if a law had been given that could give life? Then people could become right with God by obeying the law.

Is the law then contrary to the promises of God? Certainly not! For if a law had been given that could give life, then righteousness would indeed be by the law.

Is there a conflict, then, between God’s law and God’s promises? Absolutely not! If the law could give us new life, we could be made right with God by obeying it.

Is the law therefore contrary to God’s promises? Absolutely not! For if the law had been granted with the ability to give life, then righteousness would certainly be on the basis of the law.

Is the Law then contrary to the promises of God? Far from it! For if a law had been given that was able to impart life, then righteousness would indeed have been based on law.

Is the law then against the promises of God? Certainly not! For if there had been a law given which could have given life, truly righteousness would have been by the law.

Is the law then against the promises of God? God forbid: for if there had been a law given which could make alive, verily righteousness would have been of the law.

Is the law therefore contrary to God’s promises? Absolutely not! For if a law had been given that was able to give life, then righteousness would certainly be by the law.

我不废掉神的恩；义若是藉着律法得的，基督就是徒然死了。

但以色列人追求律法的义，反得不着律法的义。

所以凡有血气的，没有一个因行律法能在神面前称义，因为律法本是叫人知罪。但如今，神的义在律法以外已经显明出来，有律法和先知为证：就是神的义，因信耶稣基督加给一切相信的人，并没有分别。

因为不知道神的义，想要立自己的义，就不服神的义了。律法的总结就是基督，使凡信他的都得着义。摩西写着说：“人若行那出于律法的义，就必因此活着。”惟有出于信心的义如此说：“你不要心里说：谁要升到天上去呢？（就是要领下基督来；）

这样，我们可说什么呢？律法是罪吗？断乎不是！只是非因律法，我就不知何为罪。非律法说“不可起贪心”，我就不知何为贪心。然而，罪趁着机会，就藉着诫命叫诸般的贪心在我里头发动；因为没有律法，罪是死的。我以前没有律法是活着的；但是诫命来到，罪又活了，我就死了。那本来叫人活的诫命，反倒叫我死；因为罪趁着机会，就藉着诫命引诱我，并且杀了我。这样看来，律法是圣洁的，诫命也是圣洁、公义、良善的。既然如此，那良善的是叫我死吗？断乎不是！叫我死的乃是罪。但罪藉着那良善的叫我死，就显出真是罪，叫罪因着诫命更显出是恶极了。

我因律法，就向律法死了，叫我可以向神活着。

这样，我们因信废了律法吗？断乎不是！更是坚固律法。

断乎不能！不如说，神是真实的，人都是虚谎的。如经上所记：“你责备人的时候，显为公义；被人议论的时候，可以得胜。”

我们若求在基督里称义，却仍旧是罪人，难道基督是叫人犯罪的吗？断乎不是！

“莫想我来要废掉律法和先知。我来不是要废掉，乃是要成全。我实在告诉你们，就是到天地都废去了，律法的一点一画也不能废去，都要成全。所以，无论何人废掉这诫命中最小的一条，又教训人这样做，他在天国要称为最小的。但无论何人遵行这诫命，又教训人遵行，他在天国要称为大的。我告诉你们，你们的义若不胜于文士和法利赛人的义，断不能进天国。”

断乎不是！若是这样，神怎能审判世界呢？

就热心说，我是逼迫教会的；就律法上的义说，我是无可指摘的。只是我先前以为与我有益的，我现在因基督都当作有损的。不但如此，我也将万事当作有损的，因我以认识我主基督耶稣为至宝。我为他已经丢弃万事，看作粪土，为要得着基督；并且得以在他里面，不是有自己因律法而得的义，乃是有信基督的义，就是因信神而来的义，

挪亚因着信，既蒙神指示他未见的事，动了敬畏的心，预备了一只方舟，使他全家得救。因此就定了那世代的罪，自己也承受了那从信而来的义。
