乃依啟示而往、且以我在異邦所宣之福音告之、惟私陳於有令聞者、免我前後所行為徒然也、

余得默示而往、以在異邦所傳之福音、私語有名之人、俾其詳悉、免我前後所為、歸於徒勞、

我遵默示而上、以我在異邦所傳之福音告彼、惟私語其中有名之人、免我前所行、與後所將行者、歸於徒勞、

蓋蒙天主啟示、乃有此行。至則將予所傳於外邦之福音、自陳於德高望重之同人；庶幾我前後之所奔走努力者、莫為徒勞。

I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race in vain.

I went because God showed me what he wanted me to do. I spoke in private to those who are respected as leaders. I told them the good news that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I wasn’t running my race for no purpose. And I wanted to know that I had not been running my race for no purpose.

I went up because of a revelation and set before them( though privately before those who seemed influential) the gospel that I proclaim among the Gentiles, in order to make sure I was not running or had not run in vain.

I went there because God revealed to me that I should go. While I was there I met privately with those considered to be leaders of the church and shared with them the message I had been preaching to the Gentiles. I wanted to make sure that we were in agreement, for fear that all my efforts had been wasted and I was running the race for nothing.

I went up according to a revelation and presented to them the gospel I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to those recognized as leaders. I wanted to be sure I was not running, and had not been running, in vain.

至於那些被認為有名望的人（無論他們從前怎麼樣，都與我無關；神不以外貌取人），他們並沒有給我增加甚麼；

把生命的道顯揚出來，使我在基督的日子可以誇耀我沒有空跑，也沒有徒勞。

又知道我蒙了神的恩，那幾位被譽為柱石的雅各、磯法和約翰，就向我和巴拿巴伸出右手互相許諾，我們要到外族人那裡去傳福音，他們要到受割禮的人那裡去傳福音；

因此，我既然不能再忍下去，就派人去打聽你們的信心怎樣；恐怕那試探人的誘惑了你們，以致我們的勞苦白費了。

我們卻傳揚釘十字架的基督；在猶太人看來是絆腳石，在外族人看來是愚笨的，

大家都靜默無聲，聽巴拿巴和保羅述說神藉著他們在外族人中所行的神蹟奇事。

所以我奔跑，不是沒有目標的；我鬥拳，不是打空氣的。

因為我曾立定主意，在你們中間甚麼都不想知道，只知道耶穌基督和他釘十字架的事。

到了耶路撒冷，他們受到教會、使徒和長老的接待，就報告神同他們一起所行的一切。

當天晚上，主站在保羅身邊，說：“你要壯起膽來，你怎樣在耶路撒冷作見證，也必照樣在羅馬為我作見證。”

“現在，我差派你們出去，好像羊進到狼群中間；所以你們要像蛇一樣機警，像鴿子一樣純潔。

難道你們不知道，在場上賽跑的人，雖然大家都跑，但得獎的只有一個人嗎？你們都應當這樣跑，好叫你們可以得獎。

夜裡，主藉著異象對保羅說：“不要怕，只管講，不要閉口！

既然樂意把自己的兒子啟示給我，使我可以在外族人中傳揚他，我就沒有和任何人（“人”原文作“肉和血”）商量，

幾隻死蒼蠅能使做香料者的膏油發霉變臭，一點點愚昧比智慧和榮譽的影響更大。

但有一個法利賽人，名叫迦瑪列，是民眾所尊敬的律法教師。他在公議會中站起來，吩咐人把使徒暫時帶出去，

因此，你們要在主裡歡歡喜喜地接待他，也要尊重這樣的人，

夜間有一個異象向保羅顯現：有一個馬其頓人站著求他說：“請你到馬其頓來，幫助我們！”保羅見了這異象，我們就認定是神呼召我們去傳福音給他們，於是立刻設法前往馬其頓。
