蓋蒙天主啟示、乃有此行。至則將予所傳於外邦之福音、自陳於德高望重之同人；庶幾我前後之所奔走努力者、莫為徒勞。

I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race in vain.

I went because God showed me what he wanted me to do. I spoke in private to those who are respected as leaders. I told them the good news that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I wasn’t running my race for no purpose. And I wanted to know that I had not been running my race for no purpose.

I went up because of a revelation and set before them( though privately before those who seemed influential) the gospel that I proclaim among the Gentiles, in order to make sure I was not running or had not run in vain.

I went there because God revealed to me that I should go. While I was there I met privately with those considered to be leaders of the church and shared with them the message I had been preaching to the Gentiles. I wanted to make sure that we were in agreement, for fear that all my efforts had been wasted and I was running the race for nothing.

又知道我蒙了神的恩，那几位被誉为柱石的雅各、矶法和约翰，就向我和巴拿巴伸出右手互相许诺，我们要到外族人那里去传福音，他们要到受割礼的人那里去传福音；

因此，我既然不能再忍下去，就派人去打听你们的信心怎样；恐怕那试探人的诱惑了你们，以致我们的劳苦白费了。

我们却传扬钉十字架的基督；在犹太人看来是绊脚石，在外族人看来是愚笨的，

大家都静默无声，听巴拿巴和保罗述说神藉着他们在外族人中所行的神迹奇事。

所以我奔跑，不是没有目标的；我斗拳，不是打空气的。

因为我曾立定主意，在你们中间什么都不想知道，只知道耶稣基督和他钉十字架的事。

到了耶路撒冷，他们受到教会、使徒和长老的接待，就报告神同他们一起所行的一切。

当天晚上，主站在保罗身边，说：“你要壮起胆来，你怎样在耶路撒冷作见证，也必照样在罗马为我作见证。”

“现在，我差派你们出去，好像羊进到狼群中间；所以你们要像蛇一样机警，像鸽子一样纯洁。

难道你们不知道，在场上赛跑的人，虽然大家都跑，但得奖的只有一个人吗？你们都应当这样跑，好叫你们可以得奖。

夜里，主藉着异象对保罗说：“不要怕，只管讲，不要闭口！

既然乐意把自己的儿子启示给我，使我可以在外族人中传扬他，我就没有和任何人（“人”原文作“肉和血”）商量，

几只死苍蝇能使做香料者的膏油发霉变臭，一点点愚昧比智慧和荣誉的影响更大。

但有一个法利赛人，名叫迦玛列，是民众所尊敬的律法教师。他在公议会中站起来，吩咐人把使徒暂时带出去，

因此，你们要在主里欢欢喜喜地接待他，也要尊重这样的人，

夜间有一个异象向保罗显现：有一个马其顿人站着求他说：“请你到马其顿来，帮助我们！”保罗见了这异象，我们就认定是神呼召我们去传福音给他们，于是立刻设法前往马其顿。
