我是遵照上帝的啟示去的。我私下拜會了那些有名望的教會領袖，陳明我在外族人中間所傳的福音，免得我過去或是現在的努力都白費了。

我是奉启示上去的，把我在外邦人中所传的福音对弟兄们陈说；却是背地里对那有名望之人说的，惟恐我现在，或是从前，徒然奔跑。

我遵默示而上、以我在異邦所傳之福音告彼、惟私語其中有名之人、免我前所行、與後所將行者、歸於徒勞、

蓋蒙天主啟示、乃有此行。至則將予所傳於外邦之福音、自陳於德高望重之同人；庶幾我前後之所奔走努力者、莫為徒勞。

I went in response to a revelation and, meeting privately with those esteemed as leaders, I presented to them the gospel that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I was not running and had not been running my race in vain.

I went because God showed me what he wanted me to do. I spoke in private to those who are respected as leaders. I told them the good news that I preach among the Gentiles. I wanted to be sure I wasn’t running my race for no purpose. And I wanted to know that I had not been running my race for no purpose.

I went up because of a revelation and set before them( though privately before those who seemed influential) the gospel that I proclaim among the Gentiles, in order to make sure I was not running or had not run in vain.

I went there because God revealed to me that I should go. While I was there I met privately with those considered to be leaders of the church and shared with them the message I had been preaching to the Gentiles. I wanted to make sure that we were in agreement, for fear that all my efforts had been wasted and I was running the race for nothing.

至於那些德高望重的教會領袖，他們的地位對我來說無關緊要，因為上帝不以貌取人。他們對我所傳的並沒有增加什麼。

堅守生命之道。這樣，到了基督再來的時候，我可以誇口自己沒有空跑一場，也沒有白費功夫。

當時被譽為教會柱石的雅各、彼得和約翰明白了上帝賜給我的恩典之後，就與我和巴拿巴用右手行相交之禮，讓我們向外族人傳福音，他們向受割禮的人傳福音。

因此，我無法再等下去了，就派提摩太到你們那裡看看你們的信心如何，免得那誘惑人的誘惑了你們，使我們的心血都白費了。

但我們傳講被釘十字架的基督。這對猶太人來說是絆腳石，對外族人來說是愚昧的。

眾人都沉默不語，繼續聽巴拿巴和保羅敘述上帝藉著他們在外族人中所行的神蹟奇事。

因此，我奔跑不是漫無目標，我擊拳不是打空氣。

因為我已決定在你們當中不談別的，只講耶穌基督和祂被釘十字架的事。

他們到了耶路撒冷，受到教會、使徒和長老的接待，並詳述了上帝藉他們所做的一切事。

當天晚上，主站在保羅身旁對他說：「要勇敢！正如你在耶路撒冷為我作了見證，你也必須在羅馬為我做見證。」

「聽著，我差你們出去，就好像使羊走進狼群一般。所以，你們要像蛇一樣機靈，像鴿子一樣馴良。

你們不知道嗎？在運動場上賽跑的人雖然個個都在跑，但冠軍只有一個。同樣，你們也要努力奔跑，好獲得獎賞。

一天晚上，主在異象中對保羅說：「不要怕，只管繼續傳講，不要停！

上帝既然樂意把祂的兒子啟示給我，叫我向外族人傳揚祂的福音，我就沒有跟任何人商量，

死蒼蠅會使芬芳的膏油發臭，同樣，一點點愚昧足以毀掉智慧和尊榮。

公會中有一位名叫迦瑪列的法利賽人，是個德高望重的律法教師。他站起來，叫人把使徒暫且押到外面，

你們要在主裡歡歡喜喜地接待他，而且要敬重像他這樣的人。

當天晚上，保羅在異象中看見一個馬其頓人站在那裡懇求他：「請到馬其頓來幫助我們！」保羅見了這個異象，確信是上帝呼召我們到馬其頓去傳福音，就立刻準備動身。
