我見其行不端、不依福音之真、遂於眾前語之曰、爾猶太人也、所行既如異邦人、非如猶太人、胡為強異邦人如猶太人乎、

我見其行不正、不遵福音真理、於眾前語彼得云、爾猶太人也、若從異邦、不從猶太人、則又何使異邦人從猶太人乎、

我見其行不正、不遵福音之真、乃於眾前謂磯法曰、爾猶太人也、既行如異邦人、非如猶太人、何又強異邦人、行如猶太人乎、

予見若輩之行、不遵福音正道、乃當眾而謂基法曰：『夫汝雖猶太人、起居飲食、猶且從眾、而不復拘泥於猶太俗矣。則又安得強外邦人從猶太俗乎？

When I saw that they were not acting in line with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all,“ You are a Jew, yet you live like a Gentile and not like a Jew. How is it, then, that you force Gentiles to follow Jewish customs?

I saw what they were doing. It was not in line with the truth of the good news. So I spoke to Peter in front of them all.“ You are a Jew,” I said.“ But you live like one who is not. So why do you force Gentiles to follow Jewish ways?”

But when I saw that their conduct was not in step with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas before them all,“ If you, though a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you force the Gentiles to live like Jews?”

When I saw that they were not following the truth of the gospel message, I said to Peter in front of all the others,“ Since you, a Jew by birth, have discarded the Jewish laws and are living like a Gentile, why are you now trying to make these Gentiles follow the Jewish traditions?

But when I saw that they were not straightforward about the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in the presence of all,“ If you, being a Jew, live like the Gentiles and not like the Jews, how is it that you compel the Gentiles to live like Jews?

But when I saw that they were not behaving consistently with the truth of the gospel, I said to Cephas in front of them all,“ If you, although you are a Jew, live like a Gentile and not like a Jew, how can you try to force the Gentiles to live like Jews?”

But when I saw that they didn’t walk uprightly according to the truth of the Good News, I said to Peter before them all,“ If you, being a Jew, live as the Gentiles do, and not as the Jews do, why do you compel the Gentiles to live as the Jews do?

But we did not give up and submit to these people for even a moment, so that the truth of the gospel would be preserved for you.

Peter said to them,“ You know it’s forbidden for a Jewish man to associate with or visit a foreigner, but God has shown me that I must not call any person impure or unclean.

Now then, why are you testing God by putting a yoke on the disciples’ necks that neither our ancestors nor we have been able to bear?On the contrary, we believe that we are saved through the grace of the Lord Jesus in the same way they are.”

Publicly rebuke those who sin, so that the rest will be afraid.

He stores up success for the upright; He is a shield for those who live with integrity

Those who want to make a good impression in the flesh are the ones who would compel you to be circumcised— but only to avoid being persecuted for the cross of Christ.

For the LORD God is a sun and shield. The LORD grants favor and honor; he does not withhold the good from those who live with integrity.

For it was the Holy Spirit’s decision— and ours— not to place further burdens on you beyond these requirements:that you abstain from food offered to idols, from blood, from eating anything that has been strangled, and from sexual immorality. You will do well if you keep yourselves from these things. Farewell.”

Since we have heard that some without our authorization went out from us and troubled you with their words and unsettled your hearts,

The one who lives blamelessly, practices righteousness, and acknowledges the truth in his heart—

But when Cephas came to Antioch, I opposed him to his face because he stood condemned.For he regularly ate with the Gentiles before certain men came from James. However, when they came, he withdrew and separated himself, because he feared those from the circumcision party.Then the rest of the Jews joined his hypocrisy, so that even Barnabas was led astray by their hypocrisy.

Let the righteous one strike me— it is an act of faithful love; let him rebuke me— it is oil for my head; let me not refuse it. Even now my prayer is against the evil acts of the wicked.

saying,“ You went to uncircumcised men and ate with them.”Peter began to explain to them step by step,“ I was in the town of Joppa praying, and I saw, in a trance, an object that resembled a large sheet coming down, being lowered by its four corners from heaven, and it came to me.When I looked closely and considered it, I saw the four-footed animals of the earth, the wild beasts, the reptiles, and the birds of the sky.I also heard a voice telling me,‘ Get up, Peter; kill and eat.’“‘ No, Lord!’ I said.‘ For nothing impure or ritually unclean has ever entered my mouth.’But a voice answered from heaven a second time,‘ What God has made clean, you must not call impure.’“ Now this happened three times, and everything was drawn up again into heaven.At that very moment, three men who had been sent to me from Caesarea arrived at the house where we were.The Spirit told me to accompany them with no doubts at all. These six brothers also accompanied me, and we went into the man’s house.He reported to us how he had seen the angel standing in his house and saying,‘ Send to Joppa, and call for Simon, who is also named Peter.He will speak a message to you by which you and all your household will be saved.’“ As I began to speak, the Holy Spirit came down on them, just as on us at the beginning.I remembered the word of the Lord, how he said,‘ John baptized with water, but you will be baptized with the Holy Spirit.’If, then, God gave them the same gift that he also gave to us when we believed in the Lord Jesus Christ, how could I possibly hinder God?”When they heard this they became silent. And they glorified God, saying,“ So then, God has given repentance resulting in life even to the Gentiles.”

The one who lives with integrity lives securely, but whoever perverts his ways will be found out.

and make straight paths for your feet, so that what is lame may not be dislocated but healed instead.

“ Do not harbor hatred against your brother. Rebuke your neighbor directly, and you will not incur guilt because of him.

When James, Cephas, and John— those recognized as pillars— acknowledged the grace that had been given to me, they gave the right hand of fellowship to me and Barnabas, agreeing that we should go to the Gentiles and they to the circumcised.

On the contrary, they saw that I had been entrusted with the gospel for the uncircumcised, just as Peter was for the circumcised,

Do you really speak righteously, you mighty ones? Do you judge people fairly?

I know and am persuaded in the Lord Jesus that nothing is unclean in itself. Still, to someone who considers a thing to be unclean, to that one it is unclean.

They forbid marriage and demand abstinence from foods that God created to be received with gratitude by those who believe and know the truth.For everything created by God is good, and nothing is to be rejected if it is received with thanksgiving,since it is sanctified by the word of God and by prayer.

Therefore, in my judgment, we should not cause difficulties for those among the Gentiles who turn to God,but instead we should write to them to abstain from things polluted by idols, from sexual immorality, from eating anything that has been strangled, and from blood.For since ancient times, Moses has had those who proclaim him in every city, and every Sabbath day he is read aloud in the synagogues.”

They are physical regulations and only deal with food, drink, and various washings imposed until the time of the new order.

Better an open reprimand than concealed love.The wounds of a friend are trustworthy, but the kisses of an enemy are excessive.
