彼得在外面院子里坐着，有一个使女前来，说：“你素来也是同那加利利人耶稣一起的。”彼得在众人面前却不承认，说：“我不知道你说的是什么！”他出去，到了门口，又有一个使女看见他，就对那里的人说：“这个人是同拿撒勒人耶稣一起的。”彼得又不承认，起誓说：“我不认得那个人。”过了不久，旁边站着的人进前来，对彼得说：“你的确是他们一伙的，你的口音把你显露出来了。”彼得就赌咒发誓说：“我不认得那个人。”立刻鸡就叫了。彼得想起耶稣所说的话：“鸡叫以前，你要三次不认我。”他就出去痛哭。

这样，你们不再是外人或客旅，是与圣徒同国，是上帝家里的人了，被建造在使徒和先知的根基上，而基督耶稣自己为房角石，靠着他整座房子连接得紧凑，渐渐成为在主里的圣殿。你们也靠他同被建造，成为上帝藉着圣灵居住的所在。

惧怕人的，陷入圈套；惟有倚靠耶和华的，必得安稳。

各样恶事要禁戒。

废掉那记在律法上的规条，为要使两方藉着自己造成一个新人，促成了和平；

第二天，保罗同我们去见雅各；所有的长老也都在场。保罗向他们问安，然后将上帝用他在外邦人中所做的事奉，一一述说了。他们听见了，就归荣耀给上帝，对保罗说：“弟兄，你看犹太人中有数以万计的信徒，而他们都是热心于律法的人。他们曾听见人说，你教导所有在外邦的犹太人离弃摩西，对他们说，不要给孩子行割礼，也不要遵守规矩。众人必听见你来了，这可怎么办呢？你就照着我们的话做吧！我们这里有四个人，都有愿在身。你带他们去，与他们一同行洁净的礼，替他们缴纳规费，让他们得以剃头。这样，众人就会知道，先前所听见关于你的事都是假的；而且也知道，你自己为人循规蹈矩，遵行律法。至于信主的外邦人，我们已经根据我们的决议写信，叫他们要禁戒偶像所玷污的东西、血和勒死的牲畜，禁戒淫乱。”

且对人说：‘你站开吧！不要挨近我，因为我对你来说太神圣了。’这些人惹我鼻中冒烟，如终日燃烧的火。

你怕谁，因谁恐惧，竟说谎，不记得我，不将这事放在心上。是否因我许久闭口不言，你就不怕我了呢？
