Paul, an apostle— sent not from men nor by a man, but by Jesus Christ and God the Father, who raised him from the dead—

I, Paul, am writing this letter. I am an apostle. People have not sent me. No human authority has sent me. I have been sent by Jesus Christ and by God the Father. God raised Jesus from the dead.

Now I want you to know, brothers and sisters, that the gospel I preached is not of human origin.For I did not receive it or learn it from any human source; instead I received it by a revelation of Jesus Christ.

But the Lord said to him,“ Go, because this man is my chosen instrument to carry my name before Gentiles and kings and the people of Israel.For I will show him how much he must suffer for the sake of my name.”

From Paul, a slave of Christ Jesus, called to be an apostle, set apart for the gospel of God.

But now in his own time he has made his message evident through the preaching I was entrusted with according to the command of God our Savior.

From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Timothy our brother, to the church of God that is in Corinth, with all the saints who are in all Achaia.

and from Jesus Christ– the faithful witness, the firstborn from among the dead, the ruler over the kings of the earth. To the one who loves us and has set us free from our sins at the cost of his own blood

From Paul, called to be an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, and Sosthenes, our brother,

Then he said,‘ The God of our ancestors has already chosen you to know his will, to see the Righteous One, and to hear a command from his mouth,because you will be his witness to all people of what you have seen and heard.And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized, and have your sins washed away, calling on his name.’When I returned to Jerusalem and was praying in the temple, I fell into a tranceand saw the Lord saying to me,‘ Hurry and get out of Jerusalem quickly, because they will not accept your testimony about me.’I replied,‘ Lord, they themselves know that I imprisoned and beat those in the various synagogues who believed in you.And when the blood of your witness Stephen was shed, I myself was standing nearby, approving, and guarding the cloaks of those who were killing him.’Then he said to me,‘ Go, because I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”

because if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved.

Now may the God of peace who by the blood of the eternal covenant brought back from the dead the great shepherd of the sheep, our Lord Jesus Christ,

But get up and stand on your feet, for I have appeared to you for this reason, to designate you in advance as a servant and witness to the things you have seen and to the things in which I will appear to you.I will rescue you from your own people and from the Gentiles, to whom I am sending youto open their eyes so that they turn from darkness to light and from the power of Satan to God, so that they may receive forgiveness of sins and a share among those who are sanctified by faith in me.’

To me– less than the least of all the saints– this grace was given, to proclaim to the Gentiles the unfathomable riches of Christ

This accords with the glorious gospel of the blessed God that was entrusted to me.I am grateful to the one who has strengthened me, Christ Jesus our Lord, because he considered me faithful in putting me into ministry,even though I was formerly a blasphemer and a persecutor, and an arrogant man. But I was treated with mercy because I acted ignorantly in unbelief,and our Lord’s grace was abundant, bringing faith and love in Christ Jesus.

So I asked,‘ What should I do, Lord?’ The Lord said to me,‘ Get up and go to Damascus; there you will be told about everything that you have been designated to do.’

But stand up and enter the city and you will be told what you must do.”

From Paul, an apostle of Christ Jesus by the will of God, to further the promise of life in Christ Jesus,

and what is the incomparable greatness of his power toward us who believe, as displayed in the exercise of his immense strength.This power he exercised in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms

“ To the angel of the church in Smyrna write the following:“ This is the solemn pronouncement of the one who is the first and the last, the one who was dead, but came to life:

who was appointed the Son- of- God- in- power according to the Holy Spirit by the resurrection from the dead, Jesus Christ our Lord.Through him we have received grace and our apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith among all the Gentiles on behalf of his name.

but also for our sake, to whom it will be credited, those who believe in the one who raised Jesus our Lord from the dead.He was given over because of our transgressions and was raised for the sake of our justification.

So Jesus answered them,“ I tell you the solemn truth, the Son can do nothing on his own initiative, but only what he sees the Father doing. For whatever the Father does, the Son does likewise.

The Father and I are one.”

and the one who lives! I was dead, but look, now I am alive– forever and ever– and I hold the keys of death and of Hades!

So Jesus said to them again,“ Peace be with you. Just as the Father has sent me, I also send you.”

Then Jesus came up and said to them,“ All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me.Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit,teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you. And remember, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”

Through him you now trust in God, who raised him from the dead and gave him glory, so that your faith and hope are in God.

While they were serving the Lord and fasting, the Holy Spirit said,“ Set apart for me Barnabas and Saul for the work to which I have called them.”Then, after they had fasted and prayed and placed their hands on them, they sent them off.So Barnabas and Saul, sent out by the Holy Spirit, went down to Seleucia, and from there they sailed to Cyprus.

For this reason Christ died and returned to life, so that he may be the Lord of both the dead and the living.

nor did I go up to Jerusalem to see those who were apostles before me, but right away I departed to Arabia, and then returned to Damascus.

Are we beginning to commend ourselves again? We don’t need letters of recommendation to you or from you as some other people do, do we?You yourselves are our letter, written on our hearts, known and read by everyone,revealing that you are a letter of Christ, delivered by us, written not with ink but by the Spirit of the living God, not on stone tablets but on tablets of human hearts.

“ Brothers, the scripture had to be fulfilled that the Holy Spirit foretold through David concerning Judas– who became the guide for those who arrested Jesus–for he was counted as one of us and received a share in this ministry.”( Now this man Judas acquired a field with the reward of his unjust deed, and falling headfirst he burst open in the middle and all his intestines gushed out.This became known to all who lived in Jerusalem, so that in their own language they called that field Hakeldama, that is,“ Field of Blood.”)“ For it is written in the book of Psalms,‘ Let his house become deserted, and let there be no one to live in it,’ and‘ Let another take his position of responsibility.’Thus one of the men who have accompanied us during all the time the Lord Jesus associated with us,beginning from his baptism by John until the day he was taken up from us– one of these must become a witness of his resurrection together with us.”So they proposed two candidates: Joseph called Barsabbas( also called Justus) and Matthias.Then they prayed,“ Lord, you know the hearts of all. Show us which one of these two you have chosento assume the task of this service and apostleship from which Judas turned aside to go to his own place.”Then they cast lots for them, and the one chosen was Matthias; so he was counted with the eleven apostles.

But God raised him up, having released him from the pains of death, because it was not possible for him to be held in its power.For David says about him,‘ I saw the Lord always in front of me, for he is at my right hand so that I will not be shaken.Therefore my heart was glad and my tongue rejoiced; my body also will live in hope,because you will not leave my soul in Hades, nor permit your Holy One to experience decay.You have made known to me the paths of life; you will make me full of joy with your presence.’“ Brothers, I can speak confidently to you about our forefather David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is with us to this day.So then, because he was a prophet and knew that God had sworn to him with an oath to seat one of his descendants on his throne,David by foreseeing this spoke about the resurrection of the Christ, that he was neither abandoned to Hades, nor did his body experience decay.This Jesus God raised up, and we are all witnesses of it.

You killed the Originator of life, whom God raised from the dead. To this fact we are witnesses!
