命之往迦西斐雅、見其處族長易多、又傳之所當告易多、及其兄弟、並居迦西斐雅地殿役之言、即勸其遣人來、在我天主之殿供役事、

and I ordered them to go to Iddo, the leader in Kasiphia. I told them what to say to Iddo and his fellow Levites, the temple servants in Kasiphia, so that they might bring attendants to us for the house of our God.

I ordered all those men to go to Iddo. He was the leader in Kasiphia. He and his Levite relatives were temple servants there. I told my men what to say to them. I wanted Iddo and his Levite relatives to bring some attendants to us for the house of our God.

and sent them to Iddo, the leading man at the place Casiphia, telling them what to say to Iddo and his brothers and the temple servants at the place Casiphia, namely, to send us ministers for the house of our God.

利未人自三十歲以上者、核其丁男、共三萬八千人、其中督耶和華室之工者、二萬四千、為有司士師者六千、司閽者四千、以大衛所作之樂器、頌讚耶和華者四千、大衛循利未子革順、哥轄、米拉利、分其裔為班次、

尼提甯人、及所羅門僕之後、共三百九十二人、

王曰、此事非約押與爾同謀乎、婦曰、我主我王歟、我指爾生命以誓、我主我王所言、無人能左右轉移之、蓋爾僕約押命我、以此言授婢、

入見王、與之言、遂以言授之、

我於以色列族中、已取爾兄弟利未人歸耶和華、今賜於汝、以供會幕役事、

耶和華曰、爾若歸誠、我必導爾復立我前、爾若取貴者於劣者中、則可為我口、民必歸爾、爾勿歸彼、

我留爾於革哩底使正其缺、於諸邑舉任長老、如我所命、

厥後利未人入會幕、於亞倫及其子前、以供役事、耶和華指利未人、所諭摩西者、以色列人悉遵行之、○耶和華諭摩西曰、利未人供役事、有定例焉、自二十五歲以上、可入會幕、以供役事、至於五十、乃罷其役、偕其兄弟同守會幕、毋再役事、其例若此、

利未人無庸復舁會幕、及供事之器皿、循大衛臨終所命、利未人自二十歲以上者核之、其職乃侍亞倫子孫、供耶和華室之役事、在院宇及房屋、潔諸聖物、服役於上帝室、掌陳設之餅、素祭之細麵、無酵之薄餅、盤炙油浸之物、及諸度量、朝夕立而稱謝頌讚耶和華、安息日、月朔、節期、循其常例定數、恆獻燔祭於耶和華、又守會幕及聖所、並偕其昆弟亞倫子孫、供耶和華室之役事、

我將於其昆弟中、為彼挺生先知如爾、以我言授於其口、使以我命悉告於眾、

耶和華伸手捫我口、曰、我以我言置於爾口、

爾與之言、以詞授之、我必助爾與彼之口、示爾以所當行、
