遣之至迦西斐雅、見其地族長易多、使告易多、與其昆弟尼提甯人、令人至此、為我上帝室供其役事、

遣之至加西巴、見民長易多、告之、又告其同宗、殿中奔走者、當令人至此、可於上帝殿、供其職司。

命之往迦西斐雅、見其處族長易多、又傳之所當告易多、及其兄弟、並居迦西斐雅地殿役之言、即勸其遣人來、在我天主之殿供役事、

and I ordered them to go to Iddo, the leader in Kasiphia. I told them what to say to Iddo and his fellow Levites, the temple servants in Kasiphia, so that they might bring attendants to us for the house of our God.

I ordered all those men to go to Iddo. He was the leader in Kasiphia. He and his Levite relatives were temple servants there. I told my men what to say to them. I wanted Iddo and his Levite relatives to bring some attendants to us for the house of our God.

and sent them to Iddo, the leading man at the place Casiphia, telling them what to say to Iddo and his brothers and the temple servants at the place Casiphia, namely, to send us ministers for the house of our God.

And I sent them forth unto Iddo the chief at the place Casiphia; and I told them what they should say unto Iddo, and his brethren the Nethinim, at the place Casiphia, that they should bring unto us ministers for the house of our God.

殿役有西哈的子孙、哈苏巴的子孙、答巴俄的子孙、

凡三十岁以上的利未人都在统计之列，共有三万八千男子，其中有两万四千人在耶和华的殿里司职，六千人做官长和审判官，四千人守门，四千人用大卫提供的乐器颂赞耶和华。大卫将利未人革顺、哥辖和米拉利的子孙分成班次。

殿役和所罗门仆人的子孙共三百九十二人。

王说：“这是不是约押的主意？”妇人说：“我敢在我主我王面前发誓，王所说的一点不错，这些话是你臣仆约押吩咐婢女说的。

然后到王那里，对他这样这样说。”约押把应该说的话都告诉妇人。

我已从以色列人中选出你们的利未亲族归给我，协助你们在会幕中司职。

耶和华对我说：“如果你回心转意，我就让你重新事奉我。如果你说有益的话，不说无益的话，就可以做我的发言人，百姓便会归向你，但你不可受他们的影响。

当初，我把你留在克里特岛，是要你完成未办完的事工，并照我的指示在各城选立长老。

之后，利未人便进入会幕，在亚伦父子们的监督下司职。以色列人照耶和华对摩西的吩咐奉献了利未人。耶和华对摩西说：“二十五岁以上的利未人都要到会幕司职，五十岁时退休。退休之后，他们可以协助本族弟兄看守会幕，不用再司职。你要这样给他们分派工作。”

利未人再不用抬圣幕和其中的器皿了。”按照大卫临终时的嘱咐，二十岁以上的利未人都已被统计。他们的任务是帮助亚伦的子孙在耶和华的殿里司职，管理殿的院子和厢房，负责洁净圣物等事务。他们还负责供饼、做素祭的细面粉、无酵薄饼的调和、烤制、分量和尺寸。他们每天早晚要肃立、颂赞耶和华，每逢安息日、朔日或其他节期，他们要按照规定的数目将燔祭献给耶和华，并负责看守会幕和圣所，帮助他们的亲族——亚伦的子孙在耶和华的殿里供职。

我要在他们当中选立一位像你一样的先知，我会告诉他该说的话，他要把我的一切吩咐告诉他们。

然后，耶和华伸手摸我的口，对我说：“看啊，我已把我的话放在你口中。

你要把该说的话传给他，我会赐你们口才，教你们如何行事。

亚达薛西王第七年，一些以色列人、祭司、利未人、歌乐手、殿门守卫和殿役来到耶路撒冷。
