“ And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God which is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges so that they may judge all the people who are in the province beyond the Euphrates River, that is, all those who know the laws of your God; and you may teach anyone who is ignorant of them.

“以斯拉啊，要照着你神赐你的智慧，将所有明白你神律法的人立为士师、审判官，治理河西的百姓，使他们教训一切不明白神律法的人。

“你，以斯拉啊，要照着你上帝赐你的智慧，指派所有明白你上帝律法的人作官长、审判官，治理河西所有的百姓，教导不明白上帝律法的人。

“你以斯拉要运用上帝赐给你的智慧委派官员和审判官，让他们治理河西省的人民，就是明白你上帝律法的人。你要教导那些不明白你上帝律法的人。

至于你以斯拉，你要照着你手中神的智慧书，委任法官和官吏，治理在河西那边所有明白你神的律法的人民，那些不晓得律法的人，你要教导他们。

命爾以斯拉、憑爾上帝所賦之智、設立有司士師、以治河西之民、悉爾上帝律者、其未悉者、則訓迪之、

命爾以士喇、憑上帝所賦之智、凡洞悉上帝律例者、簡為士師、鞫河西之民、其未悉者、爾訓迪之。

以斯拉歟、我命爾循爾天主所賦爾之智慧、選擇識爾天主律法者、立為刑官、刑官或作有司士師、以鞫河西之民、其未識者、爾則誨之、

And you, Ezra, in accordance with the wisdom of your God, which you possess, appoint magistrates and judges to administer justice to all the people of Trans-Euphrates— all who know the laws of your God. And you are to teach any who do not know them.

Ezra, appoint judges and other court officials. When you do it, use the wisdom your God gives you. Those you appoint should do what is right and fair when they judge people. They should do it for everyone who lives west of the Euphrates River. They should do it for everyone who knows the laws of your God. And I want you to teach the people who don’t know those laws.

“ And you, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God that is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges who may judge all the people in the province Beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God. And those who do not know them, you shall teach.

“ And you, Ezra, are to use the wisdom your God has given you to appoint magistrates and judges who know your God’s laws to govern all the people in the province west of the Euphrates River. Teach the law to anyone who does not know it.

And you, Ezra, according to God’s wisdom that you possess, appoint magistrates and judges to judge all the people in the region west of the Euphrates who know the laws of your God and to teach anyone who does not know them.

And you, Ezra, according to your God-given wisdom, set magistrates and judges who may judge all the people who are in the region beyond the River, all such as know the laws of your God; and teach those who do not know them.

And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God that is in thy hand, appoint magistrates and judges, who may judge all the people that are beyond the River, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye him that knoweth them not.

And you, Ezra, according to God’s wisdom that you possess, appoint magistrates and judges to judge all the people in the region west of the Euphrates who know the laws of your God and to teach anyone who does not know them.

And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that[ is] in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that[ are] beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know[ them] not.

“ Now you, Ezra, in keeping with the wisdom of your God which you possess, appoint judges and court officials who can arbitrate cases on behalf of all the people who are in Trans-Euphrates who know the laws of your God. Those who do not know this law should be taught.

You, Ezra, according to the wisdom of your God that is in your hand, appoint magistrates and judges, who may judge all the people who are beyond the River, who all know the laws of your God; and teach him who doesn’t know them.

“ You shall appoint for yourself judges and officers in all your towns which the Lord your God is giving you, according to your tribes, and they shall judge the people with righteous judgment.

For Ezra had firmly resolved to study the Law of the Lord and to practice it, and to teach His statutes and ordinances in Israel.

For the lips of a priest should maintain knowledge, and people should seek instruction from his mouth; for he is the messenger of the Lord of armies.

For the commandment is a lamp and the teaching is light; And rebukes for discipline are the way of life

On that day the Book of Moses was read aloud as the people listened; and there was found written in it that no Ammonite or Moabite was ever to enter the assembly of God,because they did not meet the sons of Israel with bread and water, but hired Balaam against them to curse them. However, our God turned the curse into a blessing.So when they heard the Law, they excluded all foreigners from Israel.

“ Now as for you, Tattenai, governor of the province beyond the Euphrates River, Shethar bozenai, and your colleagues, the officials of the provinces beyond the River, stay away from there.

But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all generously and without reproach, and it will be given to him.

In Jerusalem Jehoshaphat also appointed some of the Levites and priests, and some of the heads of the fathers’ households of Israel, for the judgment of the Lord, and to judge disputes among the inhabitants of Jerusalem.Then he commanded them, saying,“ This is what you shall do in the fear of the Lord, faithfully and wholeheartedly.Whenever any dispute comes to you from your countrymen who live in their cities, between blood and blood, between law and commandment, statutes and ordinances, you shall warn them so that they will not be guilty before the Lord, and wrath will not come on you and your countrymen. This you shall do and you will not be guilty.

For the Lord gives wisdom; From His mouth come knowledge and understanding.

But the wisdom from above is first pure, then peace loving, gentle, reasonable, full of mercy and good fruits, impartial, free of hypocrisy.And the fruit of righteousness is sown in peace by those who make peace.

Also Jeshua, Bani, Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodiah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites explained the Law to the people while the people remained in their place.They read from the book, from the Law of God, translating to give the sense so that they understood the reading.

How then are they to call on Him in whom they have not believed? How are they to believe in Him whom they have not heard? And how are they to hear without a preacher?But how are they to preach unless they are sent? Just as it is written:“ How beautiful are the feet of those who bring good news of good things!”However, they did not all heed the good news; for Isaiah says,“ Lord, who has believed our report?”So faith comes from hearing, and hearing by the word of Christ.

And all the people gathered as one person at the public square which was in front of the Water Gate, and they asked Ezra the scribe to bring the Book of the Law of Moses which the Lord had given to Israel.Then Ezra the priest brought the Law before the assembly of men, women, and all who could listen with understanding, on the first day of the seventh month.And he read from it before the public square which was in front of the Water Gate, from early morning until midday, in the presence of men and women, those who could understand; and all the people were attentive to the Book of the Law.

saying:“ The scribes and the Pharisees have seated themselves in the chair of Moses.Therefore, whatever they tell you, do and comply with it all, but do not do as they do; for they say things and do not do them.

Furthermore, you shall select out of all the people able men who fear God, men of truth, those who hate dishonest gain; and you shall place these over them as leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.Let them judge the people at all times; and let it be that they will bring to you every major matter, but they will judge every minor matter themselves. So it will be easier for you, and they will carry the burden with you.If you do this thing and God so commands you, then you will be able to endure, and all these people also will go to their places in peace.”So Moses listened to his father in law and did everything that he had said.Moses chose able men out of all Israel and made them heads over the people, leaders of thousands, of hundreds, of fifties, and of tens.

Then in the third year of his reign he sent his officials, Ben hail, Obadiah, Zechariah, Nethanel, and Micaiah, to teach in the cities of Judah;and with them the Levites, Shemaiah, Nethaniah, Zebadiah, Asahel, Shemiramoth, Jehonathan, Adonijah, Tobijah, and Tobadonijah, the Levites; and with them the priests Elishama and Jehoram.They taught in Judah, having the Book of the Law of the Lord with them; and they went throughout the cities of Judah and taught among the people.

Only the Lord give you discretion and understanding, and put you in charge of Israel, so that you may keep the Law of the Lord your God.

The Law of the Lord is perfect, restoring the soul; The testimony of the Lord is sure, making wise the simple.

When Jesus went ashore, He saw a large crowd, and He felt compassion for them because they were like sheep without a shepherd; and He began to teach them many things.

When all Israel heard about the judgment which the king had handed down, they feared the king, because they saw that the wisdom of God was in him to administer justice.

Since you are sent on the part of the king and his seven advisers to inquire about Judah and Jerusalem according to the Law of your God which is in your hand,

Of these, twenty four thousand were to oversee the work of the house of the Lord; and six thousand were officers and judges,

While they stood in their place, they read from the Book of the Law of the Lord their God for a fourth of the day; and for another fourth they confessed and worshiped the Lord their God.

And Jesus said to them,“ Therefore every scribe who has become a disciple of the kingdom of heaven is like a head of a household, who brings out of his treasure new things and old.”

Your commandments make me wiser than my enemies, For they are ever mine.I have more insight than all my teachers, For Your testimonies are my meditation.I understand more than those who are old, Because I have complied with Your precepts.
