Forasmuch as thou art sent of the king, and of his seven counsellors, to enquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, according to the law of thy God which[ is] in thine hand;

我與七謀士議定、遣爾往、循爾所有爾天主之律法、監察猶大及耶路撒冷、

You are sent by the king and his seven advisers to inquire about Judah and Jerusalem with regard to the Law of your God, which is in your hand.

I and my seven advisers are sending you to see how things are going in Judah and Jerusalem. Find out whether the people there are obeying the Law of your God. You have a copy of that law with you.

For you are sent by the king and his seven counselors to make inquiries about Judah and Jerusalem according to the Law of your God, which is in your hand,

I and my council of seven hereby instruct you to conduct an inquiry into the situation in Judah and Jerusalem, based on your God’s law, which is in your hand.

You are sent by the king and his seven counselors to evaluate Judah and Jerusalem according to the law of your God, which is in your possession.

Since you are sent on the part of the king and his seven advisers to inquire about Judah and Jerusalem according to the Law of your God which is in your hand,

And whereas you are being sent by the king and his seven counselors to inquire concerning Judah and Jerusalem, with regard to the Law of your God which is in your hand;

And the next unto him[ was] Carshena, Shethar, Admatha, Tarshish, Meres, Marsena,[ and] Memucan, the seven princes of Persia and Media, which saw the king’s face,[ and] which sat the first in the kingdom;)

Who[ is there] among you of all his people? his God be with him, and let him go up to Jerusalem, which[ is] in Judah, and build the house of the LORD God of Israel,( he[ is] the God,) which[ is] in Jerusalem.

Be it known unto the king, that we went into the province of Judea, to the house of the great God, which is builded with great stones, and timber is laid in the walls, and this work goeth fast on, and prospereth in their hands.

And the God that hath caused his name to dwell there destroy all kings and people, that shall put to their hand to alter[ and] to destroy this house of God which[ is] at Jerusalem. I Darius have made a decree; let it be done with speed.

And to carry the silver and gold, which the king and his counsellors have freely offered unto the God of Israel, whose habitation[ is] in Jerusalem,

And weighed unto them the silver, and the gold, and the vessels,[ even] the offering of the house of our God, which the king, and his counsellors, and his lords, and all Israel[ there] present, had offered:

The king answered unto Daniel, and said, Of a truth[ it is], that your God[ is] a God of gods, and a Lord of kings, and a revealer of secrets, seeing thou couldest reveal this secret.

And thou, Ezra, after the wisdom of thy God, that[ is] in thine hand, set magistrates and judges, which may judge all the people that[ are] beyond the river, all such as know the laws of thy God; and teach ye them that know[ them] not.And whosoever will not do the law of thy God, and the law of the king, let judgment be executed speedily upon him, whether[ it be] unto death, or to banishment, or to confiscation of goods, or to imprisonment.

I make a decree, That in every dominion of my kingdom men tremble and fear before the God of Daniel: for he[ is] the living God, and stedfast for ever, and his kingdom[ that] which shall not be destroyed, and his dominion[ shall be even] unto the end.

And it shall be, when he sitteth upon the throne of his kingdom, that he shall write him a copy of this law in a book out of[ that which is] before the priests the Levites:And it shall be with him, and he shall read therein all the days of his life: that he may learn to fear the LORD his God, to keep all the words of this law and these statutes, to do them:

And when he came to the den, he cried with a lamentable voice unto Daniel:[ and] the king spake and said to Daniel, O Daniel, servant of the living God, is thy God, whom thou servest continually, able to deliver thee from the lions?

And hath extended mercy unto me before the king, and his counsellors, and before all the king’s mighty princes. And I was strengthened as the hand of the LORD my God[ was] upon me, and I gathered together out of Israel chief men to go up with me.

To the law and to the testimony: if they speak not according to this word,[ it is] because[ there is] no light in them.
