In the first year of King Cyrus, the king issued a decree concerning the temple of God in Jerusalem: Let the temple be rebuilt as a place to present sacrifices, and let its foundations be laid. It is to be sixty cubits high and sixty cubits wide,

In the first year that Cyrus was king, he gave an order. It concerned God’s temple in Jerusalem. King Cyrus said, Rebuild the temple. Then the Jews can offer sacrifices there. Lay its foundations. The temple must be 90 feet high and 90 feet wide.

Who[ is there] among you of all his people? And the city lieth foursquare, and the length is as large as the breadth: and he measured the city with the reed, twelve thousand furlongs. The length and the breadth and the height of it are equal.

Then there shall be a place which the LORD your God shall choose to cause his name to dwell there; thither shall ye bring all that I command you; your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, your tithes, and the heave offering of your hand, and all your choice vows which ye vow unto the LORD:And ye shall rejoice before the LORD your God, ye, and your sons, and your daughters, and your menservants, and your maidservants, and the Levite that[ is] within your gates; forasmuch as he hath no part nor inheritance with you.Take heed to thyself that thou offer not thy burnt offerings in every place that thou seest:But in the place which the LORD shall choose in one of thy tribes, there thou shalt offer thy burnt offerings, and there thou shalt do all that I command thee.

But unto the place which the LORD your God shall choose out of all your tribes to put his name there,[ even] unto his habitation shall ye seek, and thither thou shalt come:And thither ye shall bring your burnt offerings, and your sacrifices, and your tithes, and heave offerings of your hand, and your vows, and your freewill offerings, and the firstlings of your herds and of your flocks:

But who is able to build him an house, seeing the heaven and heaven of heavens cannot contain him? who[ am] I then, that I should build him an house, save only to burn sacrifice before him?

But in the first year of Cyrus the king of Babylon[ the same] king Cyrus made a decree to build this house of God.And the vessels also of gold and silver of the house of God, which Nebuchadnezzar took out of the temple that[ was] in Jerusalem, and brought them into the temple of Babylon, those did Cyrus the king take out of the temple of Babylon, and they were delivered unto[ one], whose name[ was] Sheshbazzar, whom he had made governor;And said unto him, Take these vessels, go, carry them into the temple that[ is] in Jerusalem, and let the house of God be builded in his place.

And the house which king Solomon built for the LORD, the length thereof[ was] threescore cubits, and the breadth thereof twenty[ cubits], and the height thereof thirty cubits.And the porch before the temple of the house, twenty cubits[ was] the length thereof, according to the breadth of the house;[ and] ten cubits[ was] the breadth thereof before the house.

So he measured the house, an hundred cubits long; and the separate place, and the building, with the walls thereof, an hundred cubits long;Also the breadth of the face of the house, and of the separate place toward the east, an hundred cubits.And he measured the length of the building over against the separate place which[ was] behind it, and the galleries thereof on the one side and on the other side, an hundred cubits, with the inner temple, and the porches of the court;

Now these[ are the things wherein] Solomon was instructed for the building of the house of God. The length by cubits after the first measure[ was] threescore cubits, and the breadth twenty cubits.And the porch that[ was] in the front[ of the house], the length[ of it was] according to the breadth of the house, twenty cubits, and the height[ was] an hundred and twenty: and he overlaid it within with pure gold.

Whither the tribes go up, the tribes of the LORD, unto the testimony of Israel, to give thanks unto the name of the LORD.
