For seven days they celebrated with joy the Festival of Unleavened Bread, because the Lord had filled them with joy by changing the attitude of the king of Assyria so that he assisted them in the work on the house of God, the God of Israel.

For seven days they celebrated the Feast of Unleavened Bread with joy. That’s because the Lord had filled them with joy. They were glad because he had changed the mind of the king of Persia. So the king had helped them with the work on the house of the God of Israel.

And they kept the Feast of Unleavened Bread seven days with joy, for the Lord had made them joyful and had turned the heart of the king of Assyria to them, so that he aided them in the work of the house of God, the God of Israel.

Then they celebrated the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days. There was great joy throughout the land because the Lord had caused the king of Assyria to be favorable to them, so that he helped them to rebuild the Temple of God, the God of Israel.

They observed the Festival of Unleavened Bread for seven days with joy, because the LORD had made them joyful, having changed the Assyrian king’s attitude toward them, so that he supported them in the work on the house of the God of Israel.

波斯王古列元年，耶和华为要应验他藉耶利米的口所说的话，就激动波斯王古列的心灵，使他通令全国，传达文告说：

君王的心在耶和华手中，好像水沟的水，他可以随意转移。

你们既是无酵的面，就应当把旧酵除净，好让你们成为新的面团；因为我们逾越节的羊羔基督已经被杀献祭了。所以我们守这节，不可用旧酵，也不可用又邪又恶的酵，而是要用纯洁真实的无酵饼。

以斯拉说：“耶和华我们列祖的神是应该称颂的，因为他把这样的意念放在君王的心里，使他修饰那在耶路撒冷的耶和华的殿；

在耶路撒冷的以色列人，都十分欢乐地守除酵节七天；利未人和祭司天天赞美耶和华，用响亮的乐器赞美耶和华。

当时在场的以色列人守逾越节，又守除酵节七天。

于是大利乌王下令说：“现在，河西那边的总督达乃和示他．波斯乃，以及你们的同僚，就是在河西那边的亚法萨迦人，你们要远离那里；不要干涉这神殿的工程，让犹大人的总督和犹大人的长老在原来的地方重建神的这殿。我又下令你要协助这些犹大人的长老重建神的殿，你要作这事：从河西那边交给王库的税收中，拨出充足的经费给他们，免得工程停顿。他们需用的什么东西，包括作燔祭献给天上神的公牛犊、公绵羊和绵羊羔；还有麦子、盐、酒和油，都要照着在耶路撒冷的祭司们所说，天天供给他们，不可疏忽，好让他们可以献馨香的祭给天上的神，为王和王的子孙祈求长寿。我又下令：无论什么人更改这命令，就要从他的房屋中拆出一根梁木，把他挂起，钉在木上；又使他的房屋成为粪堆。愿那使自己的名居住在那里的神，毁灭所有伸手更改这命令，或要毁坏这在耶路撒冷神的殿的君王和人民。我大利乌下令，必须彻底遵行。”

你要吃无酵饼七日，第七日要向耶和华守节。七日之中你要吃无酵饼；在你四境之内，不可见有发过酵之物在你面前，也不可见有酵在你那里。

“你们要吃无酵饼七天；可是第一天就要把酵从你们的家中除去；因为从第一日起直到第七日，凡吃有酵之物的，那人必从以色列中被除灭。第一日你们要有圣会，第七日你们也要有圣会；这两日之内，除了预备各人所要吃的以外，一切工作都不可作。你们要守无酵节，因为就在这一天，我把你们的军队从埃及地领出来；所以你们要世世代代守这一日作为永远的定例。从正月十四日晚上起，直到本月二十一日晚上止，你们要吃无酵饼。七日之内在你们的家中不可有酵；因为凡吃有酵之物的，无论是外国人或是本地人，那人必从以色列的会众中被剪除。凡是有酵的，你们都不可吃；在你们一切居住的地方，你们都要吃无酵饼。”

我要使他们从埃及地归回，从亚述地招聚他们，带他们到基列地和黎巴嫩山，却仍不够容纳他们。他必经过苦难的海，击打海中的波浪，尼罗河的深处也都要干涸；亚述的骄傲必降为卑；埃及的权势要过去。

除酵节的第一天，门徒前来问耶稣：“你要我们在哪里为你预备逾越节的晚餐呢？”

人所行的，若是蒙耶和华喜悦，耶和华也使他的仇敌与他和好。

耶稣说：“如果不是从天上给你权柄，你就无权办我；因此，把我交给你的那人，罪更重了。”

在约西亚的日子，埃及王法老尼哥上来幼发拉底河帮助（按照《马索拉文本》，“帮助”应作“上去”）亚述王，约西亚王竟去迎战他，法老看见他的时候，就把他杀死在米吉多。

因此耶和华领亚述王的将帅来攻打他们，用钩子钩着玛拿西，用铜链锁住他，把他带到巴比伦去。
