So the Israelites who had returned from the exile ate it, together with all who had separated themselves from the unclean practices of their Gentile neighbors in order to seek the Lord, the God of Israel.

就是你藉著你的僕人——眾先知給我們的吩咐，『你們將要佔領的那片土地被當地人的污穢玷污，他們的可憎行徑使那裡充滿污穢。

以色列人與其他外族人隔離，站著承認自己的罪惡和祖先的過犯。

我要在你們身上灑清水潔淨你們，洗淨你們所有的污穢，除掉你們心中一切的偶像。

其餘的民眾、祭司、利未人、殿門守衛、歌樂手、殿役和所有與外族人隔離以便遵從上帝律法的人，以及他們的妻子和兒女等所有能夠明白的人，

耶和華啊！你的法度不容更改，你的殿宇永遠聖潔。

可是，有幾個人因碰到死屍而不潔淨，不能在那天守逾越節，他們就來見摩西和亞倫，說：「我們不過因碰到死屍而不潔淨，為什麼不准我們跟其他以色列人一起在指定的時間向耶和華獻供物？」

又說：「所以，你們要從他們中間出來，離開他們，不要沾染污穢之物，我就接納你們。

以色列全體會眾都要守這節期。跟你們住在一起的外族人如果想為耶和華守逾越節，他全家的男子都必須接受割禮，這樣才可以像以色列人一樣守逾越節，但沒有接受割禮的人絕不可吃逾越節的羊羔。本地人和在你們中間寄居的外族人都要遵守這規矩。」

這些事以後，眾首領來告訴我說：「以色列民眾、祭司和利未人還沒有與當地各族分開，他們仍隨從迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、亞捫人、摩押人、埃及人和亞摩利人的可憎行為。

親愛的弟兄姊妹，我們既然有這些應許，就當洗淨自己身體和靈魂一切的污穢，存著敬畏上帝的心追求完全聖潔。

離開吧，離開吧，離開巴比倫吧！不要碰不潔淨的東西。你們抬耶和華器具的人啊，要從那裡出來，要潔淨自己。

「你把以下條例告訴以色列人。「如果你們或你們的子孫中有人因為碰了死屍而不潔淨，或是出了遠門，可以改期為耶和華守逾越節。他們可以在二月十四日黃昏守逾越節，要配無酵餅和苦菜一起吃逾越節的羊羔。食物不可留到天明，也不可折斷羊羔的一根骨頭。要遵守逾越節的一切律例。如果有人是潔淨的，又沒有出遠門，卻不守逾越節，要將他從民中剷除。他不在指定的時間向耶和華獻供物，就必須自負罪責。如果寄居在你們中間的外族人也想為耶和華守逾越節，他們也要遵守這些律例和典章。不論是外族人還是以色列人，都要遵守同樣的律例。」
