蓋耶和華感亞述王心、使助建以色列族上帝之殿、故歡然守無酵節、凡歷七日。

會眾咸議、更守七日、無不樂從。

猶大便雅憫二族之敵、聞被虜者歸而建殿、奉事以色列族之上帝耶和華、

有邀余登耶和華之室、我欣喜不勝兮、

是日耶路撒冷民欣欣然、多獻祭品、蓋上帝使民及妻孥、喜樂不勝、兆姓歡聲、聞於遠邇。

宜恆以主為悅、我復言在所當悅、

於爾上帝耶和華前食之、所為之事、既蒙錫嘏、故爾及眷聚、必欣喜歡忭。

越八日大會、蓋祭壇告成、守節禮七日、復守節禮亦七日。七月二十三日、王遣民歸故土、念耶和華待大闢所羅門及以色列民之厚恩、則欣喜歡忭。

厥後恢復舊業、仍居其邑者、以色列族人、及祭司、利未族人、及服事眾會之人。

汝往哉、食其珍錯、飲其甘旨、無者頒之、此乃聖日、奉事耶和華、勿復殷憂、惟賴耶和華、眾姓臚歡。

自以色列王大闢子所羅門時、至於今日、在耶路撒冷、未有若此之樂也。

以色列族眾、歡聲而呼、吹角敲鈸、鳴琴鼓瑟、舁耶和華法匱。

耶和華無不善、恆懷矜憫、祐以色列族、故更唱迭和、謳歌頌讚、眾見耶和華殿基已成、則大聲歡呼、頌讚耶和華。有數祭司、利未人、及族中最著者、耆年之士、曾見古昔之殿、今見人置斯殿基、大聲哭泣者有人、欣然歡呼者有人。

於是祭司、利未人、司閽者、謳歌者、殿中奔走者、與以色列眾、居其故邑。
