Then, because of the decree King Darius had sent, Tattenai, governor of Trans-Euphrates, and Shethar-Bozenai and their associates carried it out with diligence.

The governor Tattenai and Shethar- Bozenai carried out King Darius’s order. And so did their friends.

Then, according to the word sent by Darius the king, Tattenai, the governor of the province Beyond the River, Shethar-bozenai, and their associates did with all diligence what Darius the king had ordered.

They greeted the king for all their colleagues— the judges and local leaders, the people of Tarpel, the Persians, the Babylonians, and the people of Erech and Susa( that is, Elam).

Many seek the ruler’s favor, but justice comes from the Lord.

So King Darius sent this message:“ Now therefore, Tattenai, governor of the province west of the Euphrates River, and Shethar bozenai, and your colleagues and other officials west of the Euphrates River— stay away from there!

When this letter from King Artaxerxes was read to Rehum, Shimshai, and their colleagues, they hurried to Jerusalem. Then, with a show of strength, they forced the Jews to stop building.

This is a copy of the letter that Tattenai the governor, Shethar bozenai, and the other officials of the province west of the Euphrates River sent to King Darius:

He frustrates the plans of schemers so the work of their hands will not succeed.He traps the wise in their own cleverness so their cunning schemes are thwarted.

So Haman took the robes and put them on Mordecai, placed him on the king’s own horse, and led him through the city square, shouting,“ This is what the king does for someone he wishes to honor!”
