So we questioned the elders and asked,“ Who gave you the order to rebuild this temple and finish this structure?”

於是我們問那些長老，對他們這樣說：『誰降旨讓你們建造這殿，完成這建築呢？』

於是我們問那些長老，對他們這樣說：『誰降旨讓你們建造這殿，完成這建築呢？』

我們問那些長老，『誰批准你們重建這殿、修復這牆的？』

於是，我們就這樣問那些長老，對他們說：‘誰下令叫你們重建這殿，完成這工程呢？’

於是我們就問那些長老，對他們這樣說：「誰下諭旨叫你們建造這殿，把這建築物築完呢？」

我儕問其長老曰、建此室、成此垣、誰頒斯諭、

我儕問長老曰、建斯室、築斯垣、伊誰所命。

臣等問其長老曰、誰命爾建斯殿、築此垣乎、

We questioned the elders and asked them,“ Who authorized you to rebuild this temple and to finish it?”

We asked the elders some questions. We said to them,“ Who authorized you to rebuild this temple? Who told you that you could finish it?”

Then we asked those elders and spoke to them thus:‘ Who gave you a decree to build this house and to finish this structure?’

“ We asked the leaders,‘ Who gave you permission to rebuild this Temple and restore this structure?’

Then we asked those elders and said to them as follows:‘ Who issued you a decree to rebuild this temple and to finish this structure?’

Then we asked those elders, and spoke thus to them:“ Who commanded you to build this temple and to finish these walls?”

Then asked we those elders, and said unto them thus, Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?

So we questioned the elders and asked,“ Who gave you the order to rebuild this temple and finish this structure?”

Then asked we those elders,[ and] said unto them thus, Who commanded you to build this house, and to make up these walls?

We inquired of those elders, asking them,‘ Who gave you the authority to rebuild this temple and to complete this structure?’

Then we asked those elders, and said to them thus,“ Who gave you a decree to build this house, and to finish this wall?”

At that time Tattenai the governor of the region west of the Euphrates River, Shethar-bozenai, and their colleagues came to the Jews and asked,“ Who gave you the order to rebuild this temple and finish this structure?”They also asked them,“ What are the names of the workers who are constructing this building?”
