Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak rose up and began to build God’s house which is at Jerusalem; and with them were the prophets of God, helping them.

Then Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Joshua son of Jozadak set to work to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.

Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, began to work. So did Joshua, the son of Jozadak. They began to rebuild the house of God in Jerusalem. The prophets of God were right there with them. They were helping them.

Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak arose and began to rebuild the house of God that is in Jerusalem, and the prophets of God were with them, supporting them.

Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel and Jeshua son of Jehozadak responded by starting again to rebuild the Temple of God in Jerusalem. And the prophets of God were with them and helped them.

Then rose up Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel, and Jeshua the son of Jozadak, and began to build the house of God which[ is] at Jerusalem: and with them[ were] the prophets of God helping them.

Then Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak began to rebuild the temple of God in Jerusalem. The prophets of God were with them, supporting them.

Then Jeshua the son of Jozadak stood up with his brothers the priests, and Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and his brothers, and built the altar of the God of Israel, to offer burnt offerings on it, as it is written in the law of Moses the man of God.

The elders of the Jews built and prospered, through the prophesying of Haggai the prophet and Zechariah the son of Iddo. They built and finished it, according to the commandment of the God of Israel, and according to the decree of Cyrus, Darius, and Artaxerxes king of Persia.

He showed me Joshua the high priest standing before Yahweh’s angel, and Satan standing at his right hand to be his adversary.Yahweh said to Satan,“ Yahweh rebuke you, Satan! Yes, Yahweh who has chosen Jerusalem rebuke you! Isn’t this a burning stick plucked out of the fire?”Now Joshua was clothed with filthy garments, and was standing before the angel.He answered and spoke to those who stood before him, saying,“ Take the filthy garments off him.” To him he said,“ Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with rich clothing.”

Then Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, and Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, with all the remnant of the people, obeyed Yahweh, their God’s voice, and the words of Haggai, the prophet, as Yahweh, their God, had sent him; and the people feared Yahweh.Then Haggai, Yahweh’s messenger, spoke Yahweh’s message to the people, saying,“ I am with you,” says Yahweh.Yahweh stirred up the spirit of Zerubbabel, the son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and the spirit of Joshua, the son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and the spirit of all the remnant of the people; and they came and worked on the house of Yahweh of Armies, their God,in the twenty- fourth day of the month, in the sixth month, in the second year of Darius the king.

Yahweh’s word came the second time to Haggai in the twenty- fourth day of the month, saying,“ Speak to Zerubbabel, governor of Judah, saying,‘ I will shake the heavens and the earth.I will overthrow the throne of kingdoms. I will destroy the strength of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overthrow the chariots, and those who ride in them. The horses and their riders will come down, everyone by the sword of his brother.In that day, says Yahweh of Armies, I will take you, Zerubbabel, my servant, the son of Shealtiel,’ says Yahweh,‘ and will make you as a signet, for I have chosen you,’ says Yahweh of Armies.”

We don’t control your faith, but are fellow workers with you for your joy. For you stand firm in faith.

Then he answered and spoke to me, saying,“ This is Yahweh’s word to Zerubbabel, saying,‘ Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit,’ says Yahweh of Armies.Who are you, great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you are a plain; and he will bring out the capstone with shouts of‘ Grace, grace, to it!’”Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,“ The hands of Zerubbabel have laid the foundation of this house. His hands shall also finish it; and you will know that Yahweh of Armies has sent me to you.

Yes, take silver and gold, and make crowns, and set them on the head of Joshua the son of Jehozadak, the high priest;

Yet now be strong, Zerubbabel,’ says Yahweh.‘ Be strong, Joshua, son of Jehozadak, the high priest. Be strong, all you people of the land,’ says Yahweh,‘ and work, for I am with you,’ says Yahweh of Armies.This is the word that I covenanted with you when you came out of Egypt, and my Spirit lived among you.‘ Don’t be afraid.’For this is what Yahweh of Armies says:‘ Yet once, it is a little while, and I will shake the heavens, the earth, the sea, and the dry land;and I will shake all nations. The precious things of all nations will come, and I will fill this house with glory, says Yahweh of Armies.The silver is mine, and the gold is mine,’ says Yahweh of Armies.‘ The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former,’ says Yahweh of Armies;‘ and in this place I will give peace,’ says Yahweh of Armies.”
