你們要接受警告，不可懈怠，免得損害加重，使王受着虧損。

爾其慎之、勿延、奚可生害、致虧諸王哉、

免虧國帑、毋方我命、欽哉。

爾其慎哉、勿誤斯事、免患日增、而有害於王、

Be careful not to neglect this matter. Why let this threat grow, to the detriment of the royal interests?

Pay careful attention to this matter. Why should we let this danger grow? That would not be in our best interests.

And take care not to be slack in this matter. Why should damage grow to the hurt of the king?”

Be diligent, and don’t neglect this matter, for we must not permit the situation to harm the king’s interests.”

See that you not neglect this matter. Otherwise, the damage will increase and the royal interests will suffer.

And beware of being negligent in carrying out this matter; why should there be great damage, to the detriment of the kings?”

Take heed now that you do not fail to do this. Why should damage increase to the hurt of the kings?

Haman said to King Ahasuerus,“ There is a certain people scattered abroad and dispersed among the peoples in all the provinces of your kingdom, and their laws are different from other people’s. Therefore it is not for the king’s profit to allow them to remain.If it pleases the king, let it be written that they be destroyed; and I will pay ten thousand talents of silver into the hands of those who are in charge of the king’s business, to bring it into the king’s treasuries.”

Be it known now to the king that if this city is built and the walls finished, they will not pay tribute, custom, or toll, and in the end it will be hurtful to the kings.

Then Esther the queen answered,“ If I have found favor in your sight, O king, and if it pleases the king, let my life be given me at my petition, and my people at my request.For we are sold, I and my people, to be destroyed, to be slain, and to perish. But if we had been sold for male and female slaves, I would have held my peace, although the adversary could not have compensated for the king’s loss.”
