I issued an order and a search was made, and it was found that this city has a long history of revolt against kings and has been a place of rebellion and sedition.

I gave an order. I had a search made. Here is what we found out. Jerusalem has a long history of turning against the kings of the countries that have ruled over it. It has refused to remain under their control. It is always stirring up trouble.

And I made a decree, and search has been made, and it has been found that this city from of old has risen against kings, and that rebellion and sedition have been made in it.

I ordered a search of the records and have found that Jerusalem has indeed been a hotbed of insurrection against many kings. In fact, rebellion and revolt are normal there!

I issued a decree and a search was conducted. It was discovered that this city has had uprisings against kings since ancient times, and there have been rebellions and revolts in it.

And a decree has been issued by me, and a search has been conducted and it has been discovered that that city has risen up against the kings in past days, and that rebellion and revolt have been perpetrated in it,

他從以色列王家後裔中取了一人，叫他發咒起誓、而跟他立約，巴王將國中有勢力的人擄去，使國低微，不能挺起，惟獨守約才得以存立。但他卻背叛了巴王，反而差遣使者往埃及去，要他們給他馬匹和許多兵丁。他哪能順利成功呢？行這樣事的人哪能逃脫呢？違反了盟約哪能逃脫呢？主永恆主發神諭說：我指着永活的我來起誓：巴王立他做王，他竟藐視了發咒起誓的話，違反了巴王跟他所立的約；因此他一定必死在巴比倫、巴王住的地方。敵人倒土堆築了壘要剪滅許多人時，法老雖領了大軍隊大羣眾人也不能在戰陣上跟他周旋呀。他藐視了發咒起誓的話，違犯了盟約；曾經舉手起了誓，還行這一切事，他必不能逃脫。因此主永恆主這麼說：我指着永活的我來起誓，對他所藐視我發咒起誓的話、和他所違犯我立的約、我一定要將這罪還報在他頭上。

現在王若以為好，就請考查王的庫房，就是在巴比倫那裏的庫房，看古列王有沒有下諭旨叫他們建造這在耶路撒冷的上帝之殿。關於這事、王樂意怎麼辦，請傳下來指示我們。』於是大利烏王下了諭旨，人就在案件庫內考查；這庫是在巴比倫存放貴重之物的地方。在亞馬他、在瑪代省的宮堡裏、曾經發現了一卷，內中是這樣記着：『記錄：

將事情隱蔽着、是上帝的榮耀；將事情察考透了、乃君王的光榮。

因為是為了永恆主怒氣發作的緣故，事情在耶路撒冷和猶大才發展到永恆主竟丟掉他們離開自己面前。西底家背叛了巴比倫王。

請王考查王列祖的記錄，在記錄上王就會查出，知道這城是個反叛的城，對列王和各省都有損害；自古以來其中常行悖逆的事，故此這城遭受了荒廢。

那麼你就要查究、搜索、仔細地究問。若這事實真地成立了，真有這可厭惡的事行於你中間，
