如今請王知道：這城如果建造起來，城牆如果築完了，他們就不將貢品賦稅服役獻給王了，終久王就受了虧損。

如今王该知道，他们若建造这城，城墙完毕就不再与王进贡，交课，纳税，终久王必受亏损。

Furthermore, the king should know that if this city is built and its walls are restored, no more taxes, tribute or duty will be paid, and eventually the royal revenues will suffer.

Here is something else we want you to know. Suppose this city is rebuilt. And suppose its walls are made like new again. Then no more taxes, gifts or fees will be collected. And sooner or later there will be less money for you.

And the king should know that if this city is rebuilt and its walls are completed, it will be much to your disadvantage, for the Jews will then refuse to pay their tribute, customs, and tolls to you.

你們呢、我要使你們知道：要向所有的祭司、利未人、音樂員、守門的、當殿役的、供這上帝之殿使用的、收貢品賦稅、或叫他們服役、那是不合法的。

你們納貢銀、也是為了這個緣故，因為他們是上帝的差役，時常專務的正是這事。你們向一切人、總要把債還清；該向誰納貢銀，就向誰納貢銀；該向誰上稅，就向誰上稅；該敬畏誰；就敬畏誰；該尊敬誰，就尊敬誰。

有的說：『我們已把我們的田地和葡萄園作抵押去借銀錢來交王的貢物稅了。

耶穌從那裏往前走，看見一個人名叫馬太、在稅關上坐着，就對他說：『你跟從我』；他就起來跟從耶穌。

傲慢人將謊言把我抹髒了；我、卻一心恪守你的訓令。

彼得說：『納呀。』他進了屋子，耶穌卻先問他說：『西門，你以為怎樣？地上的君王從誰收稅銀或丁稅呢？從自己的子民呢？還是從外人呀？』

從前也曾有王管理耶路撒冷，統轄大河以西那邊全地，貢物賦稅、和服役都進獻給王。

行詭詐的人哪，你終日圖謀着毁滅；你的舌頭就像磨快的剃刀。
