爾自以為智勇兼全、善於戰鬥、然爾何所恃而逆我乎。

當告違逆之族、云、爾知是乎、巴比倫王至耶路撒冷、虜其王公牧伯、至於巴比倫、與王子結約、加以盟誓、取其世家為質、使國為卑、不復振興、但守盟約、猶可自保。乃王子背巴比倫王約、遣使至埃及、欲其率軍馬以至、彼行是事、豈能亨通、豈能免難、爽約之人、豈能獲救。我耶和華指己而誓、王子既為巴比倫王所立、藐視其主、爽其盟約、則必至巴比倫而沒、敵既築壘建營、欲滅邑眾、法老雖率旅眾多、以助其戰、亦必不利、蓋王子於立約之後、不以盟誓為重、而爽其約、故不能免難。主耶和華又曰、彼藐視約言、而背我命、我指己而誓、必罰其罪、罹之以網羅、陷之以坎阱、曳至巴比倫、在彼降災、以罰其罪、彼及流亡之眾、爰及軍旅、必殞於刃、遺民星散、使知我耶和華已言之矣。

我命人考稽、悉知彼邑、自古迄今、作亂叛王。

我告爾一事、爾當知詔建耶路撒冷、逮及受膏之君至、必有七日、復乘以七、更有七日、復乘以六十二、築城修道、必在患難之時、

蓋見此人、乃惑民之徒、震動擾亂天下猶太人、為拿撒勒黨之首、

爾邑自古以來、風俗敦龐、以迄於今、漸流於淫靡矣。昔也行仁義者居之、茲也嗜殺人者處之。爾銀變為滓、爾酒雜以水、爾之君長悖逆乎我、與盜為侶、好賄賂、納苞苴、孤子嫠婦、不伸其冤。

是時巴比倫王尼布甲尼撒征猶大、約雅金臣服三年、後復謀叛、
