Then they gave money to the masons and carpenters, and gave food and drink and olive oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, so that they would bring cedar logs by sea from Lebanon to Joppa, as authorized by Cyrus king of Persia.

The people gave money to those who worked with stone and those who worked with wood. They gave food and drink and olive oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre. Then those people brought cedar logs down from Lebanon to the Mediterranean Sea. They floated them down to Joppa. Cyrus, the king of Persia, authorized them to do it.

So they gave money to the masons and the carpenters, and food, drink, and oil to the Sidonians and the Tyrians to bring cedar trees from Lebanon to the sea, to Joppa, according to the grant that they had from Cyrus king of Persia.

Then the people hired masons and carpenters and bought cedar logs from the people of Tyre and Sidon, paying them with food, wine, and olive oil. The logs were brought down from the Lebanon mountains and floated along the coast of the Mediterranean Sea to Joppa, for King Cyrus had given permission for this.

They gave money to the stonecutters and artisans, and gave food, drink, and oil to the people of Sidon and Tyre, so they would bring cedar wood from Lebanon to Joppa by sea, according to the authorization given them by King Cyrus of Persia.

我僕將舁之、自利巴嫩至海濱、乘桴浮海、至爾所指之地、在彼給爾、爾以食物供我僕役、任我所欲。希蘭以柏香木松木予所羅門、隨其所欲。所羅門歲以麥一百二十萬斗、清油一萬二千斤、供希蘭之僕役。

約拿欲離耶和華駐蹕之所、避於大失、遂詣約帕、有舟將往大失、附之以行、而給舟子以值、離耶和華駐蹕之所。

爾僕既斫材木、我必與彼嘉麥一千二百萬斗、麰麥一千二百萬斗、酒一百二十萬斤、油一百二十萬斤。推羅王希蘭致書所羅門、曰、耶和華愛斯民、故立爾為王。又曰、當頌讚造天地者、以色列族之上帝耶和華、賜大闢王賢子、賦以智慧、能建耶和華殿、及王宮室。我父希蘭得良工、我遣之來、彼具聰明。其母屬但支派、其父居推羅、能製金、銀、銅、鐵、木、石、能編赤絳紫三色之枲、又能鐫玉、心思奇巧、可與爾父大闢、及爾良工偕作。我主所言之嘉麥、麰麥、酒油、可運至爾僕所。我儕於利巴嫩斫木、適爾所用、可編為桴、桴海達約帕、任爾之僕運至耶路撒冷。

巴西王古列曰、天上上帝耶和華、以天下列國賜我、命我在猶大之耶路撒冷建殿、以奉其名。以色列之上帝耶和華誠為上帝、凡爾遴選之民、可往猶大之耶路撒冷、建置殿宇、願上帝祐之。猶大人所旅之地、其地之民可助之、饋以金銀、財貨、牲牷、亦可樂輸禮物、供耶路撒冷上帝之殿。

予統轄耶和華殿之工、以與工作、使修葺殿宇。又與木工、土工、版築者、俾購材木雕石、為修理之用。

猶大、以色列族與爾貿易、鬻米匿之麥、餅餌、蜜、油、乳香、

王與耶何耶大、以金予統轄耶和華殿之工師、俾與修殿之木工、土工、鐵工、銅工、諸工興作、上帝之殿修葺完固、厥功告成。

爾宜遣人往約帕、請西門名彼得者、主海濱皮工西門家、彼將以所當行者、告爾、

上載古列王元年、降詔、詔曰、咨爾有眾、可於耶路撒冷建殿、奉事上帝、獻祭之所、宜基深址固、所建室高廣各六丈。以大石三行、材木一行、所費則取諸國帑。昔尼布甲尼撒、取上帝殿中金銀器皿、自耶路撒冷、遷於巴比倫、茲可復攜之、置上帝殿、仍歸其所、云云、
