Despite their fear of the peoples around them, they built the altar on its foundation and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both the morning and evening sacrifices.

The people who built the altar were afraid of the nations around them. But they built it anyway. They set it up where it had stood before. They sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord. They offered the morning and evening sacrifices on it.

They set the altar in its place, for fear was on them because of the peoples of the lands, and they offered burnt offerings on it to the Lord, burnt offerings morning and evening.

Even though the people were afraid of the local residents, they rebuilt the altar at its old site. Then they began to sacrifice burnt offerings on the altar to the Lord each morning and evening.

那地的民，就在犹大人建造的时候，使他们的手发软，扰乱他们；

“你要吩咐以色列人说：‘献给我的供物，就是献给我作馨香火祭的食物，你们要按日期献给我’；又要对他们说：你们要献给耶和华的火祭，就是没有残疾、一岁的公羊羔，每日两只，作为常献的燔祭。早晨要献一只，黄昏的时候要献一只；又用细面伊法十分之一，并捣成的油一欣四分之一，调和作为素祭。这是在西奈山所命定为常献的燔祭，是献给耶和华为馨香的火祭。为这一只羊羔，要同献奠祭的酒一欣四分之一。在圣所中，你要将醇酒奉给耶和华为奠祭。晚上，你要献那一只羊羔，必照早晨的素祭和同献的奠祭献上，作为馨香的火祭，献给耶和华。”

我的仇敌终日要把我吞了，因逞骄傲攻击我的人甚多。我惧怕的时候要倚靠你。我倚靠神，我要赞美他的话；我倚靠神，必不惧怕。血气之辈能把我怎么样呢？

耶和华是我的亮光，是我的拯救，我还怕谁呢？耶和华是我性命的保障，我还惧谁呢？那作恶的就是我的仇敌，前来吃我肉的时候就绊跌仆倒。

他又制造一座铜坛，长二十肘，宽二十肘，高十肘；

上奏亚达薛西王说：“河西的臣民云云：王该知道，从王那里上到我们这里的犹大人，已经到耶路撒冷重建这反叛恶劣的城，筑立根基，建造城墙。如今王该知道，他们若建造这城，城墙完毕就不再与王进贡，交课，纳税，终久王必受亏损。我们既食御盐，不忍见王吃亏，因此奏告于王。请王考察先王的实录，必在其上查知这城是反叛的城，与列王和各省有害；自古以来，其中常有悖逆的事，因此这城曾被拆毁。我们谨奏王知，这城若再建造，城墙完毕，河西之地王就无份了。”

那时，我在亚哈瓦河边宣告禁食，为要在我们神面前克苦己心，求他使我们和妇人孩子，并一切所有的，都得平坦的道路。我求王拨步兵马兵帮助我们抵挡路上的仇敌，本以为羞耻；因我曾对王说：“我们神施恩的手必帮助一切寻求他的；但他的能力和忿怒必攻击一切离弃他的。”

“你每天所要献在坛上的就是两只一岁的羊羔；早晨要献这一只，黄昏的时候要献那一只。和这一只羊羔同献的，要用细面伊法十分之一与捣成的油一欣四分之一调和，又用酒一欣四分之一作为奠祭。那一只羊羔要在黄昏的时候献上，照着早晨的素祭和奠祭的礼办理，作为献给耶和华馨香的火祭。这要在耶和华面前、会幕门口，作你们世世代代常献的燔祭。我要在那里与你们相会，和你们说话。
