Despite their fear of the peoples around them, they built the altar on its foundation and sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord, both the morning and evening sacrifices.

The people who built the altar were afraid of the nations around them. But they built it anyway. They set it up where it had stood before. They sacrificed burnt offerings on it to the Lord. They offered the morning and evening sacrifices on it.

They set the altar in its place, for fear was on them because of the peoples of the lands, and they offered burnt offerings on it to the Lord, burnt offerings morning and evening.

Even though the people were afraid of the local residents, they rebuilt the altar at its old site. Then they began to sacrifice burnt offerings on the altar to the Lord each morning and evening.

They set up the altar on its foundation and offered burnt offerings for the morning and evening on it to the LORD even though they feared the surrounding peoples.

於是，當地人阻撓猶大人，使他們不敢建殿，

「你告訴以色列人，要在規定的時間獻上蒙我悅納的馨香火祭，作為我的食物。以下是他們要獻給耶和華的火祭。「每天兩隻毫無殘疾、一歲的公羊羔作燔祭，早晨和傍晚各獻一隻，同時獻上素祭——一公斤細麵粉調上一升油。這是在西奈山上規定的日常燔祭，是獻給耶和華的馨香火祭。與每隻羊羔一同獻上的還有一升酒，要將酒灑在聖所作為獻給耶和華的奠祭。傍晚獻羊羔時，也要像早上一樣同時獻上素祭和奠祭，作蒙耶和華悅納的馨香火祭。

我的仇敵整日攻擊我，許多人狂妄地迫害我。我害怕的時候，仍要倚靠你。我讚美上帝的應許，我信靠祂，就不懼怕，區區世人能把我怎樣？

耶和華是我的光，我的拯救，我還怕誰？耶和華是我的堡壘，我還怕誰？當惡人來吞吃我，仇敵來攻擊我時，必失足跌倒。

所羅門造了一座銅壇，長九米，寬九米，高四點五米。

上奏亞達薛西王，「『幼發拉底河西的臣民奏告亞達薛西王，王該知道，從王那裡到我們這裡來的猶太人已經去了耶路撒冷，如今正在重建這座叛逆、罪惡之城，正在重建地基，修築城牆。王該知道，如果這城建好，城牆完工，他們將不再進貢、交賦、納稅，王的稅收必受虧損。我們既食王祿，就不能坐視王遭受損失，因此上奏於王。請王查看先王的記錄，必從中獲悉這城是叛逆之城，危害列王和各省。自古以來，城中叛亂不斷，因此才被毀滅。我們願王知道，這城一旦建好，城牆完工，幼發拉底河西之地就不再為王所有了。』」

然後，我在亞哈瓦河邊宣佈禁食，為要在我們的上帝面前謙卑下來，祈求祂保護我們、我們的兒女及財物一路平安。我羞於求王派步兵和騎兵沿途幫助我們禦敵，因為我們曾經告訴王：「我們的上帝會施恩幫助尋求祂的人，但會向背棄祂的人發烈怒。」

「你們每天要獻上兩隻一歲的羊羔作燔祭。一隻在早晨獻上，另一隻在黃昏獻上。要用一公斤細麵粉調一升橄欖油做成素祭，與早晨獻的羊羔一同獻上，再獻上一升酒作奠祭。另一隻羊要在黃昏的時候獻上，所獻的素祭和奠祭要跟早晨的一樣，作為蒙耶和華悅納的馨香火祭。「你們世世代代要不斷地在我面前獻上燔祭，祭禮要在會幕門前舉行，這會幕就是我跟你們會面和交談的地方。
