许多曾见过旧殿的年长的祭司、利未人和族长看见这殿的根基，不禁放声大哭，也有很多人高声欢呼。

但是有許多祭司中的人和利未人、以及父系的族長、那些曾經見過先前的殿之奠基的、老年人、如今看見這樣的殿在眼前，便大聲哭號；不過也有許多人提高了聲音、歡喜快樂地呼喊；

有數祭司、利未人、及族中最著者、耆年之士、曾見古昔之殿、今見人置斯殿基、大聲哭泣者有人、欣然歡呼者有人。

有多祭司利未人族長年已老者、曾見昔日之殿、今目睹築此殿之基、大聲號哭、更有多人因喜而歡呼、

But many of the older priests and Levites and family heads, who had seen the former temple, wept aloud when they saw the foundation of this temple being laid, while many others shouted for joy.

But many of the older priests and Levites and family leaders wept out loud. They had seen the first temple. So when they saw the foundation of the second temple being laid, they wept. Others shouted with joy.

爾中曾見此室昔時之榮者、有誰尚存、今爾視之、為何如耶、在爾目中、非若無有乎、

攜種流涕而出者、必挾禾束、欣然而歸兮、

王視之、見一石、非人手所鑿、擊厥像半鐵半泥之足而碎之、於是鐵泥銅銀與金俱碎、如夏日禾場之粃糠、為風飄揚、無從尋覓、擊像之石、成為大山、遍盈天下、

今藐小者、必成千倍、今微弱者、必成強邦、屆期、我耶和華必速成之、

誰藐視其日、以為細故乎、耶和華之七目、遍察全地、必喜見所羅巴伯手執準繩也、

我將導之自北方、集之自地極、瞽者跛者、懷妊者、臨產者、咸與之偕、成為大會而返、彼將哭泣而來、為我所導、且禱且行、我使之經溪濱、循正直之途、而不顚躓、蓋我為以色列之父、以法蓮為我首生之子、○

又設喻曰、天國猶芥種一粒、人取而播於田、此百種之至微者、及其長也、大於諸蔬、且成樹、飛鳥來棲其枝、○

耶和華曰、若蚓之雅各、以色列人歟、勿懼、我必助爾、救贖爾者、乃以色列之聖者也、

爾始雖微小、終必昌熾、
