When the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests in their vestments and with trumpets, and the Levites( the sons of Asaph) with cymbals, took their places to praise the Lord, as prescribed by David king of Israel.

The builders laid the foundation of the Lord’ s temple. Then the priests came. They were wearing their special clothes. They brought their trumpets with them. The Levites who belonged to the family line of Asaph also came. They brought their cymbals with them. The priests and Levites took their places to praise the Lord. They did everything just as King David had required them to.

And when the builders laid the foundation of the temple of the Lord, the priests in their vestments came forward with trumpets, and the Levites, the sons of Asaph, with cymbals, to praise the Lord, according to the directions of David king of Israel.

誰藐視斯日、以為細故乎、此七燈乃耶和華七目、遍察天下、見所羅把伯執準繩、則喜、

四千為閽者、四千用大闢所作樂器、頌讚耶和華。

又使利未人、在耶和華匱前、供其役事、頌禱尊榮以色列族之上帝耶和華。首亞薩、次撒加利亞、耶葉、示米喇末、耶歇、馬得底、以利押、庇拿雅、阿伯以東、耶葉、鳴琴鼓瑟、亞薩敲鈸。祭司庇拿雅、雅哈悉、在上帝法匱前、吹角不息。○是時大闢頌美耶和華、使亞薩及其同儕誦之、

王使利未人、敲鈸鳴琴、鼓瑟於耶和華殿、循大闢及所倚重之先見者伽得、先知拿單、傳耶和華命。利未人執大闢樂器、祭司執角而立。

大闢使亞薩、及其同宗、立耶和華法匱前、供其役事、日盡乃職、畢生勿替。

為亞倫子製衣服、冠帶、以彰華美、使亞倫及其子服之、沐以膏、俾其成聖、任為祭司、以奉事我。以枲織褌、自腰及髀、蔽厥下體。

耶和華諭摩西曰、用圓輪法、製銀角二、以集公會、使營遄征。吹二角時、會眾宜集、見爾於會幕前。吹一角時、以色列族牧伯、千夫長、必集見爾。若角聲宏遠一次、則東營遄征、二次、則南營遄征、如聞角聲宏壯、遄征勿緩。欲集公會時、可吹其角、聲勿宏遠。亞倫子孫為祭司、必吹其角、著為永例、歷世勿替。有敵犯境、爾往攻之、必吹角甚厲、則耶和華爾之上帝垂念爾曹、拯爾於敵。佳日、會期、月朔、與獻燔祭酬恩祭之時、當吹其角、我耶和華爾之上帝必垂念爾。○

其名臚列於左、哈沙庇、示哩比、甲滅子耶書亞、及其同宗、班列攸分、兩旁對立、頌讚上帝、循上帝僕大闢之命。馬大尼、八布迦、阿巴底、米書闌、達門、亞谷、咸為閽人、職司內庫。當約薩撻孫、耶書亞子約雅金、方伯尼希米、選士祭司以士喇之時、上所載數人、猶存於世。

祭司示辨雅、約沙法、拿但業、亞馬賽、撒加利亞、庇拿雅、以列撒、在上帝匱前吹角、阿伯以東、耶歇、司匱前之閽。

法匱既定其所、大闢使斯眾謳歌、供其役事、在耶和華殿、此數人者、在會幕前謳歌、迨所羅門在耶路撒冷建耶和華殿、循其常例、以供役事。所侍立以謳歌者、哥轄之裔、希慢及其眾子、希慢乃約耳之子、約耳乃撒母耳之子、撒母耳乃以利迦拿之子、以利迦拿乃耶羅罕之子、耶羅罕乃以列之子、以列乃多亞之子、多亞乃蘇弗之子、蘇弗乃以利迦拿之子、以利迦拿乃馬轄之子、馬轄乃亞馬賽之子、亞馬賽乃以利迦拿之子、以利迦拿乃約耳之子、約耳乃烏西亞之子、烏西亞乃西番雅之子、西番雅乃大哈之子、大哈乃亞惜之子、亞惜乃以庇撒之子、以庇撒乃可喇曾孫、可喇乃以斯哈之子、以斯哈乃哥轄之子、哥轄乃利未之子、利未乃以色列之子、其同宗侍立於右者為亞薩、亞薩乃庇拉其之子、庇拉其乃示每之子、示每乃米加勒之子、米加勒乃巴西亞之子、巴西亞乃馬其亞之子、馬其亞乃益尼之子、益尼乃西喇之子、西喇乃亞大雅之子、亞大雅乃以探之子、以探乃心馬之子、心馬乃示每之子、示每乃雅哈之子、雅哈乃革順之孫、革順乃利未之子。其同宗米喇哩之裔、立於左者、為以探、以探乃基示之子、基示乃押底之子、押底乃馬鹿之子、馬鹿乃哈沙庇之子、哈沙庇乃亞馬謝之子、亞馬謝乃希勒家之子、希勒家乃暗西之子、暗西乃巴尼之子、巴尼乃沙麥之子、沙麥乃抹利之子、抹利與母示乃米喇哩之子、米喇哩乃利未之子。利未人立於上帝之殿、以供役事。

大闢與舁匱之利未人暨謳歌長基拿尼、及其從者、俱衣長服、大闢衣公服、皆以枲為之。

大闢與會長、使亞薩、希慢、耶土頓眾子、為伶官、鳴琴鼓瑟、敲鈸謳歌、其數如左、亞薩眾子、撒刻、約瑟、尼大尼、亞薩哩拉、俱為亞薩所轄、遵王命而謳歌。耶土頓眾子、其大利、西哩、以賽亞、哈沙庇、馬得底、俱為其父耶土頓所轄、鼓琴謳歌、頌美耶和華。希慢眾子、不加、馬但尼、烏泄、示拔、耶哩末、哈拿尼亞、哈拿尼、以利亞他、客撻底、囉曼地以設、約比加沙、馬羅底、何得、馬哈宿。希慢奉上帝命為先見者、而臣於王、上帝賜之生子十四人、女三人、彼與眾子吹角。又教子女、於耶和華殿謳歌鳴琴、鼓瑟敲鈸、以供役事、循王所諭亞薩、耶土頓、希慢之命。彼與同宗、學習謳歌、頌美耶和華、能善其事、約二百八十八人、

亞薩子孫、職謳歌、立於其次循大闢、與奉王命為先見者耶土頓及亞薩、希慢所諭。司閽恆在門、故同宗利未人為之烹肉。

王諭多益曰、汝擊祭司。以東人多益遂擊祭司、當日殺衣枲公服者八十五人。
