于是，以利亚撒祭司把被火焚烧的人献过的铜香炉拿起来，叫人锤成薄片，用来包盖祭坛，给以色列人作鉴戒，叫不是亚伦子孙的外人，不可近前来，在耶和华面前烧香，免得他像可拉和他的同党有一样的遭遇；这是照着耶和华藉摩西吩咐以利亚撒的。

你和你的儿子，要与你一同守你们祭司的职分，办理一切属祭坛和幔子内的事；你们要这样供职。我把祭司的职分赐给你们作服事我的赏赐；外人若是近前来，必被处死。”
