以色列人彼此说：“以色列各支派中，谁没有与会众上到耶和华面前来呢？”因为他们曾经起过很严厉的誓，说：“不上米斯巴到耶和华面前的，必把他处死。”

众民听见了这律法，就跟一切闲杂人分离。

“一切永属耶和华的圣物，就是人永献给耶和华的物，无论是人或是牲畜，或是他承受作产业的田地，都不可以变卖，也不可以赎回；一切永献之物都是归耶和华为至圣的。

可是，所有的金银和铜铁的器皿，都要归耶和华为圣，存入耶和华的库房中。”

他牵来一对牛，把它们切成碎块，交给使者，送到以色列的全境去，说：“不出来跟从扫罗和撒母耳的，他的牛也必受到这样的对待。”因众民惧怕耶和华，他们就都出来，如同一人。

不遵守你神的律法和王的律法的，就要审慎地判决处分，或是处死、或是放逐、或是没收家产、或是囚禁。”
