Now let us make a covenant before our God to send away all these women and their children, in accordance with the counsel of my lord and of those who fear the commands of our God. Let it be done according to the Law.

So let’s make a covenant in front of our God. Let’s promise to send away all these women and their children. That’s what you have advised us to do. Those who respect our God’s commands have given us the same advice. We want to do what the Law says.

Therefore let us make a covenant with our God to put away all these wives and their children, according to the counsel of my lord and of those who tremble at the commandment of our God, and let it be done according to the Law.

Let us now make a covenant with our God to divorce our pagan wives and to send them away with their children. We will follow the advice given by you and by the others who respect the commands of our God. Let it be done according to the Law of God.

凡為以色列上帝言語戰兢的人，都因被擄歸回之人所犯的罪，聚集到我這裏來。我驚惶地坐着，直到獻晚祭的時候。

當耶和華－你的上帝把他們交給你，你擊殺他們的時候，你要完全消滅他們，不可與他們立約，也不可憐惜他們。不可與他們結親；不可將你的女兒嫁給他的兒子，也不可叫你的兒子娶他的女兒。

上帝也按手在猶大人身上，使他們一心遵行王與眾領袖照着耶和華的話所發的命令。

我對其餘的人說－是我，不是主說－倘若某弟兄有不信的妻子，妻子也情願和他一起生活，他就不可離棄妻子。妻子有不信的丈夫，丈夫也情願和她一起生活，她就不可離棄丈夫。

因這一切，我們立確實的約，寫在冊上。我們的領袖、利未人和祭司都用了印。

我思想自己所行的道路，我的腳步就轉向你的法度。

我因懼怕你，肉體戰慄；我害怕你的典章。

為要使你進入耶和華－你上帝的約，就是耶和華－你上帝今日向你起誓所立的；

耶和華對他說：「你去走遍耶路撒冷全城，那些為城中所做可憎之事嘆息哀哭的人，你要在他們額上做記號。」

都隨從他們貴族的弟兄發咒起誓，要遵行上帝藉他僕人摩西所賜的律法，謹守遵行耶和華－我們主的一切誡命、典章、律例。我們不把我們的女兒嫁給這地的居民，也不為我們的兒子娶他們的女兒。這地的民族若在安息日，或甚麼聖日，帶了貨物或糧食來賣，我們必不買。每逢第七年必不耕種，凡欠我們債的必不追討。我們又為自己定例，每年各人捐獻三分之一舍客勒，作為我們上帝殿之用：為供餅、常獻的素祭和燔祭，安息日、初一、節期所獻的祭和聖物，以色列的贖罪祭，以及我們上帝殿裏一切工作之用。我們的祭司、利未人和百姓都抽籤，每年按父家定期將奉獻的木柴帶到我們上帝的殿裏，照着律法上所寫的，燒在耶和華－我們上帝的壇上。每年我們又將地上初熟的土產和各樣樹上初熟的果子，都奉到耶和華的殿裏。我們又照律法上所寫的，將我們頭胎的兒子和首生的牛羊都奉到我們上帝的殿，交給在上帝殿裏供職的祭司；並將初熟麥子所磨的麵和舉祭、各樣樹上的果子、新酒與新油奉給祭司，收在我們上帝殿的庫房裏，又把我們土地所產的十分之一奉給利未人，因利未人在我們一切城鎮的土產中當取十分之一。利未人取十分之一的時候，亞倫的子孫中當有一個祭司與利未人同在。利未人也當從十分之一中取十分之一，奉到我們上帝的殿，收在庫房的倉裏。因以色列人和利未人要把禮物，就是五穀、新酒和新油，帶到收存聖所器皿的倉裏，供職的祭司、門口的守衛、歌唱的都在那裏。我們絕不會不顧我們上帝的殿。

他們到吉甲營中約書亞那裏，對他和以色列人說：「我們是從遠地來的，現在求你與我們立約。」

現在我心中有意與耶和華－以色列的上帝立約，好使他的烈怒轉離我們。

在那日，百姓聽到人朗讀摩西的律法書，發現書上寫着，亞捫人和摩押人永不可入上帝的會；因為他們沒有拿食物和水來迎接以色列人，卻雇了巴蘭詛咒他們，但我們的上帝使那詛咒變為祝福。以色列人聽見這律法，就與所有不同族羣的人分別出來。

這些人全都娶了外邦女子，其中也有生了兒女的。

當以教誨和律法書為準；人所說的若不與此相符，必沒有黎明。

這一切是我手所造的，這一切就都存在了。我所看顧的是困苦、靈裏痛悔、因我言語而戰兢的人。這是耶和華說的。

就是聽見我指着這地方和其上居民所說的話，你的心就軟化，在我面前謙卑下來，撕裂衣服，向我哭泣，因此我應允你。這是耶和華說的。

你們若斷然轉離，緊緊跟隨你們中間所剩下的這些國家，彼此結親，互相往來，就要確實知道，耶和華－你們的上帝必不再將他們從你們面前趕出；他們卻要成為你們的羅網、圈套、肋上的鞭、眼中的刺，直到你們在耶和華－你們上帝所賜的這美地上滅亡。

耶何耶大使王和百姓與耶和華立約，作耶和華的子民，又使王與百姓立約。

「你們去，以所發現這書上的話，為我、為以色列和猶大倖存的人求問耶和華；因為我們的祖先沒有遵守耶和華的話，沒有照這書上所記的一切去做，耶和華的烈怒就倒在我們身上。」

他們發現律法書上寫着，耶和華藉摩西吩咐以色列人要在七月的節期中住在棚裏，

王站在自己的位上，在耶和華面前立約，要盡心盡性跟從耶和華，遵守他的誡命、法度、律例，實行這書上所記這約的話；又使所有住耶路撒冷和便雅憫的人都服從這約。於是耶路撒冷的居民都遵行上帝，就是他們列祖之上帝的約。
