今當於主爾列祖之天主前認罪、遵其旨而行、絕離斯土各族、與所娶異族之女、

Now honor the Lord, the God of your ancestors, and do his will. Separate yourselves from the peoples around you and from your foreign wives.”

別和今世同形狀了，乃要以心思之更新而變了形質，使你們能察驗甚麼是上帝的旨意，甚麼是那美善的、可喜歡的、純全的事。

不可和他們結親；不可將你的女兒嫁給他們的兒子，也不可使你的兒子娶他們的女兒。因為他會使你的兒子偏離、而不跟從我，反而去事奉別的神，以致永恆主向你們發怒，而迅速消滅你們。

約書亞對亞干說：『我兒，我勸你將榮耀歸與永恆主以色列的上帝，向他承認，將你所作的事告訴我；不要向我隱瞞。』

現在我們應當和我們的上帝立約：將我們的妻子和她們所生的孩子都離出去，照我主和那因上帝之命令而戰戰兢兢的人所議定的；讓這事按律法而行。

遮掩自己罪過的、必不能順利；承認罪過並離棄的、必蒙憐憫。

所以『主說：你們要從他們中間出來，自己分別出來；不潔淨之物別接觸了；我就收納你們』；

我的罪我讓你知道，我的罪孽我沒有掩蓋着；我說：『我要向永恆主承認我的過犯』；那麼你就赦免我罪的孽債。（細拉）

但我們若在光裏行，如同上帝在光裏，那我們就彼此有團契了，而他兒子耶穌的血就潔淨我們一切的罪了。我們若說「我們沒有罪」，便是欺騙自己，真實就不在我們裏面了。我們若認我們的罪，上帝是可信可靠，是公義的，他必赦免我們的罪，潔淨我們一切的不義。

你們要洗澡、使自己純潔；從我眼前除掉你們行為之敗壞；要止住作惡，要學習行善；尋求公平，糾正殘暴的人，為孤兒伸冤，為寡婦辯訴。』永恆主說：『來，我們來彼此辯訴；你們的罪雖像硃紅，必變白如雪；雖紅如丹硃，必白如羊毛。

你只要承認你的罪孽，承認你怎樣悖逆了永恆主你的上帝，在各茂盛樹下向外族人的神東奔西跑，沒有聽從我的聲音：這是永恆主發神諭說的。

我們呢、並不是領受了世界的靈，乃是領受了那從上帝而來的靈，好使我們知道上帝所恩賜我們的事。這些事、我們倒也講論，可不是用屬人的智慧所教的話，乃是用靈的智慧所教的，用屬靈的話、解釋屬靈的事。不過屬血氣的人不接受上帝之靈的事；這些事在他看、簡直是愚拙；他也不能知道，因為這是用屬靈的方法來審察的。

在一切良善上使你們完備，好行他的旨意；願他在我們身上、藉着耶穌基督、行他看為可喜歡的事；願榮耀歸於他，世世無窮！阿們。

這些事作完了，眾首領前來見我，說：『以色列民和祭司跟利未人並沒有從四圍各地別族之民中分別出來，反而仿照他們可憎惡的事去行，像迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、亞捫人、摩押人、埃及人、亞摩利人所行的。

因為永恆主這麼說：『那些謹守我的安息日、選擇我所喜悅的事，持守我的約的閹割人，

『他們若承認自己的罪愆、和他們祖宗的罪愆、就是他們的不忠實、對我不忠實、並且行事跟我作對。因而我、我行事也跟他們作對，我把他們帶到他們仇敵之地；那時他們沒受割禮的心若自己謙卑，那時他們若情願接受他們的罪罰，那麼我就要記起我的約、和雅各立的，我的約、和以撒立的，我的約、和亞伯拉罕立的：我都要記起；這地我也要懷念。

行事為人對得起主，凡事讓他喜歡，在一切善行上結果子，在認識上帝上增長着，

眾民聽見了這律法，就使一切雜族眾人跟以色列人分開。
