你们不可追随世界的潮流，要随着思想的不断更新而改变，这样就能明辨上帝的旨意，知道什么是良善、纯全、蒙祂悦纳的。

不可与他们通婚，不可让你们的儿女与他们的儿女通婚，因为他们会让你们的儿女离弃耶和华去拜其他神明，以致耶和华向你们发怒，迅速毁灭你们。

约书亚对亚干说：“孩子啊，我劝你把荣耀归给以色列的上帝耶和华，向祂认罪，把你所做的事告诉我，不要隐瞒。”

现在，我们来与我们的上帝立约，听从你和那些敬畏我们上帝诫命之人的指示，遵照律法而行，送走这些妻子和她们的儿女。

自掩其罪，必不亨通；痛改前非，必蒙怜悯。

又说：“所以，你们要从他们中间出来，离开他们，不要沾染污秽之物，我就接纳你们。

我向你承认自己的罪，不再隐瞒自己的恶。我说：“我要向耶和华认罪。”你就赦免了我。（细拉）

如果我们生活在光明之中，像上帝在光明中一样，就能够彼此相交，上帝儿子耶稣的血能洗净我们一切的罪。如果我们说自己没有罪，便是自欺，真理就不在我们心中。如果我们承认自己的罪，上帝是信实公义的，必赦免我们的罪，洗净我们一切的不义。

你们要洗净自己，停止作恶，不要让我再看见你们的恶行。你们要学习行善，追求正义，帮助受欺压的，替孤儿辩护，为寡妇申冤。”耶和华说：“来吧，我们彼此理论！你们的罪虽如猩红，也必洁白如雪；你们的罪虽如绯红，也必白如羊毛。

‘你必须要承认自己的罪，承认背叛了你的上帝耶和华，在绿荫树下祭拜各种外邦的神明，不听从我的话。’这是耶和华说的。

我们接受的不是这世界的灵，而是上帝的圣灵，使我们可以领会上帝开恩启示给我们的事。我们讲述这些事，不是用人类智慧所教的话，而是用圣灵所教的话，用属灵的话解释属灵的事。然而，属血气的人不接受从上帝来的圣灵的教导，认为愚不可及，无法明白，因为只有属灵的人才能参透。

在各样善事上成全你们，好使你们遵行祂的旨意，并借着主耶稣在你们心中动工，使你们做祂喜悦的事！愿荣耀归给上帝，直到永永远远。阿们！

这些事以后，众首领来告诉我说：“以色列民众、祭司和利未人还没有与当地各族分开，他们仍随从迦南人、赫人、比利洗人、耶布斯人、亚扪人、摩押人、埃及人和亚摩利人的可憎行为。

因为耶和华说：“如果太监遵守我的安息日、做我喜悦的事、持守我的约，

“如果他们承认自己和祖先的罪，就是背叛我、与我作对的恶行——以致我与他们作对，把他们流放到敌国；如果他们顽固的心谦卑下来，甘愿接受刑罚，我便履行我与亚伯拉罕、以撒和雅各所立的约，眷顾那片土地。

以便你们行事为人对得起主，凡事蒙祂喜悦，在一切良善的事上结出果实，对上帝的认识不断增加。

以色列人听到律法书上的话，便逐出所有外族人。
