大利烏王第二年六月一日，耶和華的話藉著哈該先知臨到撒拉鐵的兒子、猶大省長所羅巴伯，和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞，說：

全部的金銀器皿共有五千四百件。被擄的人從巴比倫上耶路撒冷去的時候，設巴薩把這一切器皿都帶上去。

於是，這設巴薩回來，奠立了在耶路撒冷神的殿的根基；從那時起，到現在一直在建造，還沒有完成。’

於是耶和華激發了撒拉鐵的兒子、猶大省長所羅巴伯的心，和約撒答的兒子大祭司約書亞的心，以及所有餘剩子民的心，他們就來興工建造萬軍之耶和華他們神的殿宇。
