所以，耶和華使迦勒底人的王來攻擊他們，在他們聖殿裏用刀殺了他們的壯丁，不憐憫他們的少男少女、老人長者。耶和華把所有的人都交在他手裏。

說：「你們不可傷害地、海和樹林，等我們在我們上帝眾僕人的額上蓋了印。」

僕人知道主人的意思，卻沒預備，又未順他的意思做，那僕人要多受責打；

因為時候到了，審判要從上帝的家開始；若是先從我們開始，那麼，不信從上帝福音的人將有何等的結局呢？「若是義人還僅僅得救，不虔敬和犯罪的人將有何地可站呢？」

那時，我們奪了他一切的城鎮，毀滅各城的男人、女人、孩子，沒有留下一個倖存者。

現在你要去攻打亞瑪力人，滅盡他們所有的，不可憐惜他們，將男女、孩童、吃奶的，以及牛、羊、駱駝和驢全都殺死。』」

這城和其中所有的都要永獻給耶和華作當毀滅的，只有妓女喇合與她家中所有的可以存活，因為她隱藏了我們所派的使者。但你們務必謹慎，不可取那當滅的物，免得你們受詛咒，取了那當滅的物，使以色列全營成為詛咒而遭受災禍。只有金子、銀子和銅鐵的器皿都要歸耶和華為聖，放入耶和華的庫房中。」於是百姓呼喊，祭司吹角。百姓一聽見角聲就大聲呼喊，城牆隨着倒塌。百姓上去進城，各人往前直上，把城奪取。他們把城中所有的，無論男女老少，牛羊和驢，都用刀殺盡。約書亞對窺探這地的兩個人說：「你們進那妓女的家，照你們向她所起的誓，將那女人和她所有的都從那裏帶出來。」兩個作過探子的青年進去，把喇合與她的父母、兄弟，和她所有的帶出來，他們把她所有的親屬都帶出來，安置在以色列的營外。他們用火焚燒了那城和其中所有的，只有金子、銀子和銅鐵的器皿都放在耶和華殿的庫房中。至於妓女喇合和她父家，以及她所有的，約書亞保存了他們的性命。她就住在以色列中，直到今日，因為她隱藏了約書亞派來窺探耶利哥的使者。

除非，看哪，當我們來到這地的時候，你把這條朱紅線繩子繫在縋我們下去的窗戶上，並要叫你的父母、兄弟和你父的全家都聚集在你家中。凡離開你家門往街上去的，他的血必歸到自己頭上，與我們無關；凡在你家裏的，若有人下手害他，他的血就歸到我們頭上。

摩西對他們說：「你們要讓這所有的婦女活着嗎？看哪，正是這些婦女，因巴蘭的話，在毗珥的事上導致以色列人背叛耶和華，以致耶和華的會眾遭遇瘟疫。現在，你們要殺所有的男孩，也要把所有曾與男人同房共寢的女子都殺了。

「在地上萬族中，我只認識你們；因此，我必懲罰你們一切的罪孽。」

靈將我舉起，帶我到耶和華聖殿面向東方的東門。看哪，門口有二十五個人。我見其中有百姓的領袖押朔的兒子雅撒尼亞和比拿雅的兒子毗拉提。

我們把這些都毀滅了，像從前待希實本王西宏一樣，毀滅各城的男人、女人、孩子；

上帝對我說：「人子啊，你舉目向北觀看。」我就舉目向北觀看，看哪，祭壇門北邊的門口有那惹動妒忌的偶像。他又對我說：「人子啊，你看見以色列家所做的嗎？他們在這裏做了極其可憎的事，使我遠離我的聖所。你還要看見另有極其可憎的事。」他領我到院子門口。我觀看，看哪，牆上有一個洞。他對我說：「人子啊，你要挖牆。」我就挖牆。看哪，有一扇門。他說：「你進去，看他們在這裏所做可憎的惡事。」於是我進去看。看哪，四面牆上刻着各樣爬行的動物、可憎的走獸和以色列家各樣的偶像。以色列家的七十個長老站在這些像前，沙番的兒子雅撒尼亞也站在其中，各人手拿他的香爐，煙雲的香氣上騰。他對我說：「人子啊，你看見以色列家的長老，暗中在自己偶像的房間裏所做的嗎？因為他們說：『耶和華看不見我們；耶和華已經離棄這地。』」他又說：「你還要看見他們所做另外極其可憎的事。」他領我到耶和華殿朝北的門口。看哪，在那裏有婦女們坐着，為搭模斯哭泣。他對我說：「人子啊，你看見了嗎？你還要看見比這更可憎的事。」然後他領我到耶和華殿的內院。看哪，在耶和華殿門口、走廊和祭壇中間，約有二十五個人背向耶和華的殿，面向東方，向東拜太陽。

這些人未曾沾染婦女，他們原是童身。羔羊無論往哪裏去，他們都跟隨他。他們是從人間買來的，作為初熟的果子歸給上帝和羔羊。
