因為耶和華要巡行擊殺埃及人，他看見血在門楣上和左右的門框上，就必越過那門，不容滅命的進你們的房屋，擊殺你們。

我既從稱為我名下的城起首施行災禍，你們能盡免刑罰嗎？你們必不能免，因為我要命刀劍臨到地上一切的居民。這是萬軍之耶和華說的。』

所以，耶和華使迦勒底人的王來攻擊他們，在他們聖殿裏用刀殺了他們的壯丁，不憐恤他們的少男處女、老人白叟。耶和華將他們都交在迦勒底王手裏。

「地與海並樹木，你們不可傷害，等我們印了我們神眾僕人的額。」

僕人知道主人的意思，卻不預備，又不順他的意思行，那僕人必多受責打；

因為時候到了，審判要從神的家起首。若是先從我們起首，那不信從神福音的人將有何等的結局呢？若是義人僅僅得救，那不虔敬和犯罪的人將有何地可站呢？

我們奪了他的一切城邑，將有人煙的各城，連女人帶孩子，盡都毀滅，沒有留下一個。

現在你要去擊打亞瑪力人，滅盡他們所有的，不可憐惜他們，將男女、孩童、吃奶的，並牛、羊、駱駝，和驢盡行殺死。』」

這城和其中所有的都要在耶和華面前毀滅；只有妓女喇合與她家中所有的可以存活，因為她隱藏了我們所打發的使者。至於你們，務要謹慎，不可取那當滅的物，恐怕你們取了那當滅的物就連累以色列的全營，使全營受咒詛。惟有金子、銀子，和銅鐵的器皿都要歸耶和華為聖，必入耶和華的庫中。」於是百姓呼喊，祭司也吹角。百姓聽見角聲，便大聲呼喊，城牆就塌陷，百姓便上去進城，各人往前直上，將城奪取；又將城中所有的，不拘男女老少，牛羊和驢，都用刀殺盡。約書亞吩咐窺探地的兩個人說：「你們進那妓女的家，照着你們向她所起的誓，將那女人和她所有的都從那裏帶出來。」當探子的兩個少年人就進去，將喇合與她的父母、弟兄，和她所有的，並她一切的親眷，都帶出來，安置在以色列的營外。眾人就用火將城和其中所有的焚燒了；惟有金子、銀子，和銅鐵的器皿都放在耶和華殿的庫中。約書亞卻把妓女喇合與她父家，並她所有的，都救活了；因為她隱藏了約書亞所打發窺探耶利哥的使者，她就住在以色列中，直到今日。

我們來到這地的時候，你要把這條朱紅線繩繫在縋我們下去的窗戶上，並要使你的父母、弟兄，和你父的全家都聚集在你家中。凡出了你家門往街上去的，他的罪必歸到自己的頭上，與我們無干了。凡在你家裏的，若有人下手害他，流他血的罪就歸到我們的頭上。

對他們說：「你們要存留這一切婦女的活命嗎？這些婦女因巴蘭的計謀，叫以色列人在毗珥的事上得罪耶和華，以致耶和華的會眾遭遇瘟疫。所以，你們要把一切的男孩和所有已嫁的女子都殺了。

在地上萬族中，我只認識你們；因此，我必追討你們的一切罪孽。

靈將我舉起，帶到耶和華殿向東的東門。誰知，在門口有二十五個人，我見其中有民間的首領押朔的兒子雅撒尼亞和比拿雅的兒子毗拉提。

我們將這些都毀滅了，像從前待希實本王西宏一樣，把有人煙的各城，連女人帶孩子，盡都毀滅；

神對我說：「人子啊，你舉目向北觀看。」我就舉目向北觀看，見祭壇門的北邊，在門口有這惹忌邪的偶像；又對我說：「人子啊，以色列家所行的，就是在此行這大可憎的事，使我遠離我的聖所，你看見了嗎？你還要看見另有大可憎的事。」他領我到院門口。我觀看，見牆上有個窟窿。他對我說：「人子啊，你要挖牆。」我一挖牆，見有一門。他說：「你進去，看他們在這裏所行可憎的惡事。」我進去一看，誰知，在四面牆上畫着各樣爬物和可憎的走獸，並以色列家一切的偶像。在這些像前有以色列家的七十個長老站立，沙番的兒子雅撒尼亞也站在其中。各人手拿香爐，煙雲的香氣上騰。他對我說：「人子啊，以色列家的長老暗中在各人畫像屋裏所行的，你看見了嗎？他們常說：『耶和華看不見我們；耶和華已經離棄這地。』」他又說：「你還要看見他們另外行大可憎的事。」他領我到耶和華殿外院朝北的門口。誰知，在那裏有婦女坐着，為搭模斯哭泣。他對我說：「人子啊，你看見了嗎？你還要看見比這更可憎的事。」他又領我到耶和華殿的內院。誰知，在耶和華的殿門口、廊子和祭壇中間，約有二十五個人背向耶和華的殿，面向東方拜日頭。

這些人未曾沾染婦女，他們原是童身。羔羊無論往哪裏去，他們都跟隨他。他們是從人間買來的，作初熟的果子歸與神和羔羊。
