因为耶和华要巡行击杀埃及人，他看见血在门楣上和左右的门框上，就必越过那门，不容灭命的进你们的房屋，击杀你们。

我既从称为我名下的城起首施行灾祸，你们能尽免刑罚吗？你们必不能免，因为我要命刀剑临到地上一切的居民。这是万军之耶和华说的。’

所以，耶和华使迦勒底人的王来攻击他们，在他们圣殿里用刀杀了他们的壮丁，不怜恤他们的少男处女、老人白叟。耶和华将他们都交在迦勒底王手里。

“地与海并树木，你们不可伤害，等我们印了我们神众仆人的额。”

仆人知道主人的意思，却不预备，又不顺他的意思行，那仆人必多受责打；

因为时候到了，审判要从神的家起首。若是先从我们起首，那不信从神福音的人将有何等的结局呢？若是义人仅仅得救，那不虔敬和犯罪的人将有何地可站呢？

我们夺了他的一切城邑，将有人烟的各城，连女人带孩子，尽都毁灭，没有留下一个。

现在你要去击打亚玛力人，灭尽他们所有的，不可怜惜他们，将男女、孩童、吃奶的，并牛、羊、骆驼，和驴尽行杀死。’”

这城和其中所有的都要在耶和华面前毁灭；只有妓女喇合与她家中所有的可以存活，因为她隐藏了我们所打发的使者。至于你们，务要谨慎，不可取那当灭的物，恐怕你们取了那当灭的物就连累以色列的全营，使全营受咒诅。惟有金子、银子，和铜铁的器皿都要归耶和华为圣，必入耶和华的库中。”于是百姓呼喊，祭司也吹角。百姓听见角声，便大声呼喊，城墙就塌陷，百姓便上去进城，各人往前直上，将城夺取；又将城中所有的，不拘男女老少，牛羊和驴，都用刀杀尽。约书亚吩咐窥探地的两个人说：“你们进那妓女的家，照着你们向她所起的誓，将那女人和她所有的都从那里带出来。”当探子的两个少年人就进去，将喇合与她的父母、弟兄，和她所有的，并她一切的亲眷，都带出来，安置在以色列的营外。众人就用火将城和其中所有的焚烧了；惟有金子、银子，和铜铁的器皿都放在耶和华殿的库中。约书亚却把妓女喇合与她父家，并她所有的，都救活了；因为她隐藏了约书亚所打发窥探耶利哥的使者，她就住在以色列中，直到今日。

我们来到这地的时候，你要把这条朱红线绳系在缒我们下去的窗户上，并要使你的父母、弟兄，和你父的全家都聚集在你家中。凡出了你家门往街上去的，他的罪必归到自己的头上，与我们无干了。凡在你家里的，若有人下手害他，流他血的罪就归到我们的头上。

对他们说：“你们要存留这一切妇女的活命吗？这些妇女因巴兰的计谋，叫以色列人在毗珥的事上得罪耶和华，以致耶和华的会众遭遇瘟疫。所以，你们要把一切的男孩和所有已嫁的女子都杀了。

在地上万族中，我只认识你们；因此，我必追讨你们的一切罪孽。”

灵将我举起，带到耶和华殿向东的东门。谁知，在门口有二十五个人，我见其中有民间的首领押朔的儿子雅撒尼亚和比拿雅的儿子毗拉提。

我们将这些都毁灭了，像从前待希实本王西宏一样，把有人烟的各城，连女人带孩子，尽都毁灭；

神对我说：“人子啊，你举目向北观看。”我就举目向北观看，见祭坛门的北边，在门口有这惹忌邪的偶像；又对我说：“人子啊，以色列家所行的，就是在此行这大可憎的事，使我远离我的圣所，你看见了吗？你还要看见另有大可憎的事。”他领我到院门口。我观看，见墙上有个窟窿。他对我说：“人子啊，你要挖墙。”我一挖墙，见有一门。他说：“你进去，看他们在这里所行可憎的恶事。”我进去一看，谁知，在四面墙上画着各样爬物和可憎的走兽，并以色列家一切的偶像。在这些像前有以色列家的七十个长老站立，沙番的儿子雅撒尼亚也站在其中。各人手拿香炉，烟云的香气上腾。他对我说：“人子啊，以色列家的长老暗中在各人画像屋里所行的，你看见了吗？他们常说：‘耶和华看不见我们；耶和华已经离弃这地。’”他又说：“你还要看见他们另外行大可憎的事。”他领我到耶和华殿外院朝北的门口。谁知，在那里有妇女坐着，为搭模斯哭泣。他对我说：“人子啊，你看见了吗？你还要看见比这更可憎的事。”他又领我到耶和华殿的内院。谁知，在耶和华的殿门口、廊子和祭坛中间，约有二十五个人背向耶和华的殿，面向东方拜日头。

这些人未曾沾染妇女，他们原是童身。羔羊无论往哪里去，他们都跟随他。他们是从人间买来的，作初熟的果子归与神和羔羊。
