He stretched out what looked like a hand and took me by the hair of my head. The Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven and in visions of God he took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court, where the idol that provokes to jealousy stood.

You shall not worship them nor serve them; for I, the Lord your God, am a jealous God, inflicting the punishment of the fathers on the children, on the third and the fourth generations of those who hate Me,

For the Lord your God is a consuming fire, a jealous God.

They have made Me jealous with what is not God; They have provoked Me to anger with their idols. So I will make them jealous with those who are not a people; I will provoke them to anger with a foolish nation,

And the Spirit lifted me up and brought me in a vision by the Spirit of God to Chaldea, to the exiles. Then the vision that I had seen left me.

I know a man in Christ, who fourteen years ago— whether in the body I do not know, or out of the body I do not know, God knows— such a man was caught up to the third heaven.And I know how such a man— whether in the body or apart from the body I do not know, God knows—was caught up into Paradise and heard inexpressible words, which a man is not permitted to speak.

Then this one with human appearance touched me again and strengthened me.

Moreover, they transformed the splendor of His jewels into pride, and they made the images of their abominations and their detestable things with it; therefore I will make it an abhorrent thing to them.

Immediately I was in the Spirit; and behold, a throne was standing in heaven, and someone was sitting on the throne.And He who was sitting was like a jasper stone and a sardius in appearance; and there was a rainbow around the throne, like an emerald in appearance.Around the throne were twenty four thrones; and upon the thrones I saw twenty four elders sitting, clothed in white garments, and golden crowns on their heads.Out from the throne* came flashes of lightning and sounds and peals of thunder. And there were seven lamps of fire burning before the throne, which are the seven spirits of God;and before the throne there was something like a sea of glass, like crystal; and in the center and around the throne, four living creatures full of eyes in front and behind.The first living creature was like a lion, the second creature like a calf, the third creature had a face like that of a man, and the fourth creature was like a flying eagle.And the four living creatures, each one of them having six wings, are full of eyes around and within; and day and night they do not cease to say,“ Holy, holy, holy is the Lord God, the Almighty, who was and who is and who is to come.”And when the living creatures give glory, honor, and thanks to Him who sits on the throne, to Him who lives forever and ever,the twenty four elders will fall down before Him who sits on the throne, and they will worship Him who lives forever and ever, and will cast their crowns before the throne, saying,“ Worthy are You, our Lord and our God, to receive glory and honor and power; for You created all things, and because of Your will they existed, and were created.”

For the sons of Judah have done that which is evil in My sight,” declares the Lord.“ They have put their detestable things in the house which is called by My name, to defile it.

And it will come about when I leave you that the Spirit of the Lord will carry you to where I do not know; so when I come and inform Ahab and he cannot find you, he will kill me, though I, your servant, have feared the Lord from my youth.

So the Spirit lifted me up and took me away; and I went embittered in the rage of my spirit, and the hand of the Lord was strong on me.

— for you shall not worship any other god, because the Lord, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God—

For they provoked Him with their high places And moved Him to jealousy with their carved images.

But they put their detestable things in the house which is called by My name, to defile it.

Then the Spirit lifted me up, and I heard a great rumbling sound behind me:“ Blessed be the glory of the Lord from His place!”

Then he put the carved image of Asherah that he had made in the house of which the Lord had said to David and to his son Solomon,“ In this house and in Jerusalem, which I have chosen from all the tribes of Israel, I will put My name forever.

I was in the Spirit on the Lord’s day, and I heard behind me a loud voice like the sound of a trumpet,saying,“ Write on a scroll what you see, and send it to the seven churches: to Ephesus, Smyrna, Pergamum, Thyatira, Sardis, Philadelphia, and Laodicea.”Then I turned to see the voice that was speaking with me. And after turning I saw seven golden lampstands;and in the middle of the lampstands I saw one like a son of man, clothed in a robe reaching to the feet, and wrapped around the chest with a golden sash.His head and His hair were white like white wool, like snow; and His eyes were like a flame of fire.His feet were like burnished bronze when it has been heated to a glow in a furnace, and His voice was like the sound of many waters.In His right hand He held seven stars, and out of His mouth came a sharp two edged sword; and His face was like the sun shining in its strength.When I saw Him, I fell at His feet like a dead man. And He placed His right hand on me, saying,“ Do not be afraid; I am the first and the last,and the living One; and I was dead, and behold, I am alive forevermore, and I have the keys of death and of Hades.Therefore write the things which you have seen, and the things which are, and the things which will take place after these things.As for the mystery of the seven stars which you saw in My right hand, and the seven golden lampstands: the seven stars are the angels of the seven churches, and the seven lampstands are the seven churches.
