He stretched out what looked like a hand and took me by the hair of my head. The Spirit lifted me up between earth and heaven and in visions of God he took me to Jerusalem, to the entrance of the north gate of the inner court, where the idol that provokes to jealousy stood.

In visions God gave me, the Spirit took me to Jerusalem. He brought me to the entrance of the north gate of the inner courtyard. The statue of a god was standing there. It made God very angry.

我知道一個在基督裡的人，他十四年前被提到第三層天上。他是否在身體裡，我不知道；是否在身體外，我也不知道；只有神知道。不過我知道這樣一個人——他是否在身體裡，還是在身體外，我都不知道，只有神知道——他被提到樂園裡去，聽見了無法描述的話語，是人不可以說出來的。

看哪，有一隻手碰了我一下，使我用膝蓋和手掌支撐起來！

你們不能既喝主的杯，又喝鬼魔的杯；不能既吃主的筵席，又吃鬼魔的筵席。難道我們要激起主的嫉恨嗎？難道我們比他更強嗎？

他們從水裡上來的時候，主的靈把腓利提走，太監再也看不見他了。太監繼續趕路，滿心快樂。

那位樣貌像人的再次碰了我一下，使我有力量。

我立刻就在靈裡了，看哪，有一個寶座安放在天上，有一位坐在寶座上。坐著的那一位，看起來彷彿碧玉和紅寶石；又有一道彩虹圍著寶座，看起來彷彿綠寶石。座位的周圍，還有二十四個座位；在那些寶座上，坐著二十四位長老，身穿白衣，頭戴金冠冕；從寶座中發出閃電、聲音和雷鳴；在寶座前，有七支燃燒著的火把，就是神的七個靈；寶座前面，好像玻璃海，彷彿水晶；在寶座中間和寶座周圍，有四個活物，遍體前後布滿眼睛。第一個活物彷彿獅子，第二個活物彷彿牛犢，第三個活物有像人一樣的臉，第四個活物彷彿飛翔的鷹。那四個活物，各個都有六個翅膀，遍體內外都布滿了眼睛。他們日夜不停地說：「聖哉！聖哉！聖哉！主、神、全能者，昔在、今在、將要來臨的那一位！」每當四個活物把榮耀、尊貴和感謝歸給坐在寶座上、活到永永遠遠的那一位時，二十四位長老就俯伏在坐寶座的那一位面前，敬拜活到永永遠遠的那一位，並且把自己的冠冕放在寶座前，說：「我們的主、我們的神哪，你配接受榮耀、尊貴和權能，因為你創造了萬有；萬有是因著你的旨意而存在、被創造的。」

他們的高所惹他惱怒，他們雕刻的偶像激起他的嫉妒之心。

有一個主日，我在靈裡，聽見我後面有一個大聲音，如同號角聲，說：「把你所看見的寫在書卷上，送到那七個教會：以弗所、士每拿、佩爾伽馬、錫亞蒂拉、薩迪斯、費拉德菲亞和勞迪西亞。」我轉過身，要看看誰的聲音對我說話。我轉過身就看見了七座金燈臺。燈臺中間有一位彷彿人子的，身穿垂到腳的長袍，胸間束著金帶。他的頭和頭髮潔白，如白羊毛、如雪；他的眼睛如同火焰；他的兩腳彷彿在爐中被煉過的精銅；他的聲音好像眾水的聲音；在他的右手中拿著七顆星；從他口中發出一把雙刃的利劍；他的面容好像烈日發光。我一看見他，就仆倒在他的腳前，像死人那樣。他把右手放在我身上，說：「不要怕！我就是首先的，是末後的，是那永生的。我曾經死過，可是看哪，我現在活著，直到永永遠遠，並且拿著死亡和陰間的鑰匙。因此，你要把所看見的，就是現在的事，和此後將要發生的事，都寫下來。你所看見的，我右手中的七顆星，和這七座金燈臺的奧祕就是：七顆星是七個教會的使者，七座燈臺是七個教會。
