In front of them stood seventy elders of Israel, and Jaazaniah son of Shaphan was standing among them. Each had a censer in his hand, and a fragrant cloud of incense was rising.

In front of them stood 70 elders of Israel. Jaazaniah was standing there among them. He is the son of Shaphan. Each elder was holding a shallow cup. A sweet- smelling cloud of incense was rising from the cups.

And before them stood seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel, with Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan standing among them. Each had his censer in his hand, and the smoke of the cloud of incense went up.

Seventy leaders of Israel were standing there with Jaazaniah son of Shaphan in the center. Each of them held an incense burner, from which a cloud of incense rose above their heads.

Seventy elders from the house of Israel were standing before them, with Jaazaniah son of Shaphan standing among them. Each had a firepan in his hand, and a fragrant cloud of incense was rising up.

Seventy men of the elders of the house of Israel stood before them. In the middle of them Jaazaniah the son of Shaphan stood, every man with his censer in his hand; and the smell of the cloud of incense went up.

你们各人要拿一个香炉，把香放在上面，各人带香炉到耶和华面前，共二百五十个；你和亚伦也各拿自己的香炉。”

有火从耶和华那里出来，吞灭了那上香的二百五十人。

耶和华对摩西说：“你要从以色列的长老中为我召集七十个人，就是你所认识，作百姓的长老和官长的，领他们到会幕，使他们和你一同站在那里。

耶和华对摩西说：“你和亚伦、拿答、亚比户，以及以色列长老中的七十人，都要上到耶和华这里来，远远地下拜。

耶和华如此说：“你去买陶匠的瓷瓶，你和百姓中的长老、位尊的祭司

耶和华在云中降临，对摩西说话，把降给他的灵分给那七十个长老。灵停在他们身上的时候，他们就说预言，以后却没有再说了。

王吩咐希勒家祭司与沙番的儿子亚希甘、米该亚的儿子亚革波、沙番书记和王的臣仆亚撒雅，说：

巴录就在耶和华殿的上院，靠近耶和华殿的新门口，沙番的儿子基玛利雅文士的房间里，宣读书卷上耶利米的话给众百姓亲耳听。

你们岂可偷盗，杀害，奸淫，起假誓，向巴力烧香，随从素不认识的别神，

然而，沙番的儿子亚希甘保护耶利米，不将他交在百姓手中，以免他们把他处死。

王吩咐希勒家与沙番的儿子亚希甘、米迦的儿子亚比顿、沙番书记和王的臣仆亚撒雅，说：

摩西、亚伦、拿答、亚比户，以及以色列长老中的七十人都上去，

乌西雅既强盛，就心高气傲，以致败坏。他干犯耶和华—他的上帝，进耶和华的殿，要在香坛上烧香。

于是，希勒家祭司和亚希甘、亚革波、沙番、亚撒雅都去见户勒大女先知，她是掌管礼服的沙龙的妻子；沙龙是哈珥哈斯的孙子，特瓦的儿子。户勒大住在耶路撒冷第二区。他们向她请教。

约西亚王十八年，王派米书兰的孙子，亚萨利雅的儿子沙番书记上耶和华殿去，说：

希勒家大祭司对沙番书记说：“我在耶和华殿里发现了律法书。”希勒家把书递给沙番，沙番就读了。

他藉沙番的儿子以利亚萨和希勒家的儿子基玛利的手送去；他们二人是犹大王西底家差往巴比伦去见巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒的。

乌西雅发怒，手拿香炉要烧香。他在耶和华殿中香坛旁向众祭司发怒的时候，他的额头在众祭司面前忽然长出麻风。

我要去见尊贵的人，向他们说话，他们应该知道耶和华的作为，知道他们上帝的法则。”然而，这些人却齐心将轭折断，挣开绳索。

至于犹大地剩下的百姓，就是巴比伦王尼布甲尼撒所留下的，巴比伦王立了沙番的孙子，亚希甘的儿子基大利作他们的省长。

耶和华啊，我们和我们的君王、官长、祖先因得罪了你，脸上就都蒙羞。
