So I went in and looked. I noticed every figure of creeping thing and beast– detestable images– and every idol of the house of Israel, engraved on the wall all around.

So I went in and looked, and I saw portrayed all over the walls all kinds of crawling things and unclean animals and all the idols of Israel.

So I went in and saw the walls covered with engravings of all kinds of crawling animals and detestable creatures. I also saw the various idols worshiped by the people of Israel.

I went in and looked, and there engraved all around the wall was every kind of abhorrent thing— crawling creatures and beasts— as well as all the idols of the house of Israel.

So I entered and looked, and behold, every form of crawling things and animals and detestable things, with all the idols of the house of Israel, were carved on the wall all around.

So I went in and saw, and there— every sort of creeping thing, abominable beasts, and all the idols of the house of Israel, portrayed all around on the walls.

“ You shall not make for yourself a carved image or any likeness of anything that is in heaven above or that is on the earth beneath or that is in the water below.

and exchanged the glory of the immortal God for an image resembling mortal human beings or birds or four- footed animals or reptiles.

Before I restore them I will punish them in full for their sins and the wrongs they have done. For they have polluted my land with the lifeless statues of their disgusting idols. They have filled the land I have claimed as my own with their detestable idols.”

You must not eat any forbidden thing.

“‘ Now this is what is unclean to you among the swarming things that swarm on the land: the rat, the mouse, the large lizard of any kind,the Mediterranean gecko, the spotted lizard, the wall gecko, the skink, and the chameleon.These are the ones that are unclean to you among all the swarming things. Anyone who touches them when they die will be unclean until evening.

However, you may not eat the following animals among those that chew the cud or those that have divided hooves: the camel, the hare, and the rock badger.( Although they chew the cud, they do not have divided hooves and are therefore ritually impure to you).Also the pig is ritually impure to you; though it has divided hooves, it does not chew the cud. You may not eat their meat or even touch their remains.

anything that crawls on the ground, or any fish in the deep waters of the earth.

Just as a thief has to suffer dishonor when he is caught, so the people of Israel will suffer dishonor for what they have done. So will their kings and officials, their priests and their prophets.They say to a wooden idol,‘ You are my father.’ They say to a stone image,‘ You gave birth to me.’ Yes, they have turned away from me instead of turning to me. Yet when they are in trouble, they say,‘ Come and save us!’

You must not eat anything that crawls on its belly or anything that walks on all fours or on any number of legs of all the swarming things that swarm on the land, because they are detestable.Do not make yourselves detestable by any of the swarming things. You must not defile yourselves by them and become unclean by them,for I am the LORD your God and you are to sanctify yourselves and be holy because I am holy. You must not defile yourselves by any of the swarming things that creep on the ground,

But any creatures that do not have both fins and scales, whether in the seas or in the streams, from all the swarming things of the water and from all the living creatures that are in the water, are detestable to you.Since they are detestable to you, you must not eat their meat and their carcass you must detest.Any creature in the water that does not have both fins and scales is detestable to you.

Among the smooth stones of the stream are the idols you love; they, they are the object of your devotion. You pour out liquid offerings to them, you make an offering. Because of these things I will seek vengeance.On every high, elevated hill you prepare your bed; you go up there to offer sacrifices.Behind the door and doorpost you put your symbols. Indeed, you depart from me and go up and invite them into bed with you. You purchase favors from them, you love their bed, and gaze longingly on their genitals.You take olive oil as tribute to your king, along with many perfumes. You send your messengers to a distant place; you go all the way to Sheol.Because of the long distance you must travel, you get tired, but you do not say,‘ I give up.’ You get renewed energy, so you don’t collapse.

Because she took her prostitution so lightly, she defiled the land through her adulterous worship of gods made of wood and stone.
