The day is near, a day of tumult, and not of joyful shouting, on the mountains.Now I will shortly pour out my wrath on you, and accomplish my anger against you, and will judge you according to your ways. I will bring on you all your abominations.

Then all the princes of the sea will come down from their thrones, and lay aside their robes, and strip off their embroidered garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling. They will sit on the ground, and will tremble every moment, and be astonished at you.

For with whatever judgment you judge, you will be judged; and with whatever measure you measure, it will be measured to you.

Yahweh has made himself known. He has executed judgment. The wicked is snared by the work of his own hands. Meditation. Selah.

But according to your hardness and unrepentant heart you are treasuring up for yourself wrath in the day of wrath, revelation, and of the righteous judgment of God;who“ will pay back to everyone according to their works:”to those who by perseverance in well- doing seek for glory, honor, and incorruptibility, eternal life;but to those who are self- seeking, and don’t obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, will be wrath, indignation,oppression, and anguish on every soul of man who does evil, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.But glory, honor, and peace go to every man who does good, to the Jew first, and also to the Greek.

“ Therefore I will judge you, house of Israel, everyone according to his ways,” says the Lord Yahweh.“ Return, and turn yourselves from all your transgressions; so iniquity will not be your ruin.

A man of God came near and spoke to the king of Israel, and said,“ Yahweh says,‘ Because the Syrians have said,“ Yahweh is a god of the hills, but he is not a god of the valleys;” therefore I will deliver all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am Yahweh.’”

“‘ You, deadly wounded wicked one, the prince of Israel, whose day has come, in the time of the iniquity of the end,

but the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king, and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho; and all his army was scattered from him.Then they took the king, and carried him up to the king of Babylon to Riblah in the land of Hamath; and he pronounced judgment on him.The king of Babylon killed the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes. He also killed all the princes of Judah in Riblah.He put out the eyes of Zedekiah; and the king of Babylon bound him in fetters, and carried him to Babylon, and put him in prison until the day of his death.

“ So you will know that I am Yahweh, your God, dwelling in Zion, my holy mountain. Then Jerusalem will be holy, and no strangers will pass through her any more.

But he rebelled against him in sending his ambassadors into Egypt, that they might give him horses and many people. Will he prosper? Will he who does such things escape? Will he break the covenant, and still escape?“‘ As I live,’ says the Lord Yahweh,‘ surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant he broke, even with him in the middle of Babylon he will die.Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company won’t help him in the war, when they cast up mounds and build forts, to cut off many persons.For he has despised the oath by breaking the covenant; and behold, he had given his hand, and yet has done all these things. He won’t escape.“ Therefore the Lord Yahweh says:‘ As I live, I will surely bring on his own head my oath that he has despised and my covenant that he has broken.I will spread my net on him, and he will be taken in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon, and will enter into judgment with him there for his trespass that he has trespassed against me.All his fugitives in all his bands will fall by the sword, and those who remain will be scattered toward every wind. Then you will know that I, Yahweh, have spoken it.’

For judgment is without mercy to him who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

“ Say to them,‘ The Lord Yahweh says:“ This burden concerns the prince in Jerusalem, and all the house of Israel among whom they are.”’“ Say,‘ I am your sign. As I have done, so will it be done to them. They will go into exile, into captivity.“‘ The prince who is among them will bear on his shoulder in the dark, and will go out. They will dig through the wall to carry things out that way. He will cover his face, because he will not see the land with his eyes.I will also spread my net on him, and he will be taken in my snare. I will bring him to Babylon to the land of the Chaldeans; yet he will not see it, though he will die there.I will scatter toward every wind all who are around him to help him, and all his bands. I will draw out the sword after them.“‘ They will know that I am Yahweh when I disperse them among the nations, and scatter them through the countries.But I will leave a few men of them from the sword, from the famine, and from the pestilence, that they may declare all their abominations among the nations where they come. Then they will know that I am Yahweh.’”Moreover Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,“ Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink your water with trembling and with fearfulness.Tell the people of the land,‘ The Lord Yahweh says concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem, and the land of Israel:“ They will eat their bread with fearfulness, and drink their water in dismay, that her land may be desolate, and all that is therein, because of the violence of all those who dwell therein.The cities that are inhabited will be laid waste, and the land will be a desolation. Then you will know that I am Yahweh.”’”Yahweh’s word came to me, saying,“ Son of man, what is this proverb that you have in the land of Israel, saying,‘ The days are prolonged, and every vision fails?’

Woe to the wicked! Disaster is upon them; for the deeds of his hands will be paid back to him.
