君王悲哀、牧伯被以淒涼、庶民之手顫動、我必循其所行而待之、依其所宜而鞫之、則知我乃耶和華、

王公哀慘、牧伯驚駭、庶民喪膽、我視其所行、降以重罰、使知我乃耶和華。

王者哀慘、牧伯驚駭、國民手俱戰慄、手俱戰慄或作已皆喪膽我必視其行為以待之、循其惡習以鞫之、彼則知我乃主、

The king will mourn, the prince will be clothed with despair, and the hands of the people of the land will tremble. I will deal with them according to their conduct, and by their own standards I will judge them.“‘ Then they will know that I am the Lord.’”

Then all the princes of the sea will step down from their thrones and remove their robes and strip off their embroidered garments. They will clothe themselves with trembling; they will sit on the ground and tremble every moment and be appalled at you.

For with the judgment you pronounce you will be judged, and with the measure you use it will be measured to you.

But because of your hard and impenitent heart you are storing up wrath for yourself on the day of wrath when God’s righteous judgment will be revealed.He will render to each one according to his works:to those who by patience in well-doing seek for glory and honor and immortality, he will give eternal life;but for those who are self-seeking and do not obey the truth, but obey unrighteousness, there will be wrath and fury.There will be tribulation and distress for every human being who does evil, the Jew first and also the Greek,but glory and honor and peace for everyone who does good, the Jew first and also the Greek.

“ Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, every one according to his ways, declares the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions, lest iniquity be your ruin.

And a man of God came near and said to the king of Israel,“ Thus says the Lord,‘ Because the Syrians have said,“ The Lord is a god of the hills but he is not a god of the valleys,” therefore I will give all this great multitude into your hand, and you shall know that I am the Lord.’”

And you, O profane wicked one, prince of Israel, whose day has come, the time of your final punishment,

But the army of the Chaldeans pursued the king and overtook Zedekiah in the plains of Jericho, and all his army was scattered from him.Then they captured the king and brought him up to the king of Babylon at Riblah in the land of Hamath, and he passed sentence on him.The king of Babylon slaughtered the sons of Zedekiah before his eyes, and also slaughtered all the officials of Judah at Riblah.He put out the eyes of Zedekiah, and bound him in chains, and the king of Babylon took him to Babylon, and put him in prison till the day of his death.

“ So you shall know that I am the Lord your God, who dwells in Zion, my holy mountain. And Jerusalem shall be holy, and strangers shall never again pass through it.

But he rebelled against him by sending his ambassadors to Egypt, that they might give him horses and a large army. Will he thrive? Can one escape who does such things? Can he break the covenant and yet escape?“ As I live, declares the Lord God, surely in the place where the king dwells who made him king, whose oath he despised, and whose covenant with him he broke, in Babylon he shall die.Pharaoh with his mighty army and great company will not help him in war, when mounds are cast up and siege walls built to cut off many lives.He despised the oath in breaking the covenant, and behold, he gave his hand and did all these things; he shall not escape.Therefore thus says the Lord God: As I live, surely it is my oath that he despised, and my covenant that he broke. I will return it upon his head.I will spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my snare, and I will bring him to Babylon and enter into judgment with him there for the treachery he has committed against me.And all the pick of his troops shall fall by the sword, and the survivors shall be scattered to every wind, and you shall know that I am the Lord; I have spoken.”

For judgment is without mercy to one who has shown no mercy. Mercy triumphs over judgment.

Say to them,‘ Thus says the Lord God: This oracle concerns the prince in Jerusalem and all the house of Israel who are in it.’Say,‘ I am a sign for you: as I have done, so shall it be done to them. They shall go into exile, into captivity.’And the prince who is among them shall lift his baggage upon his shoulder at dusk, and shall go out. They shall dig through the wall to bring him out through it. He shall cover his face, that he may not see the land with his eyes.And I will spread my net over him, and he shall be taken in my snare. And I will bring him to Babylon, the land of the Chaldeans, yet he shall not see it, and he shall die there.And I will scatter toward every wind all who are around him, his helpers and all his troops, and I will unsheathe the sword after them.And they shall know that I am the Lord, when I disperse them among the nations and scatter them among the countries.But I will let a few of them escape from the sword, from famine and pestilence, that they may declare all their abominations among the nations where they go, and may know that I am the Lord.”And the word of the Lord came to me:“ Son of man, eat your bread with quaking, and drink water with trembling and with anxiety.And say to the people of the land, Thus says the Lord God concerning the inhabitants of Jerusalem in the land of Israel: They shall eat their bread with anxiety, and drink water in dismay. In this way her land will be stripped of all it contains, on account of the violence of all those who dwell in it.And the inhabited cities shall be laid waste, and the land shall become a desolation; and you shall know that I am the Lord.”And the word of the Lord came to me:“ Son of man, what is this proverb that you have about the land of Israel, saying,‘ The days grow long, and every vision comes to nothing’?

Woe to the wicked! It shall be ill with him, for what his hands have dealt out shall be done to him.
