看哪，我必興起迦勒底人，就是那殘忍暴躁之民，通行遍地，霸佔不屬自己的住處。他威武可畏，審判與威權都由他而出。他的馬比豹更快，比晚上的野狼更猛。他的戰馬跳躍，他的戰馬從遠方而來；他們飛跑，如鷹急速抓食，都為施行殘暴而來，他們的臉面向東，聚集俘虜，多如塵沙。他譏誚列王，嘲諷領袖，嗤笑一切堡壘，堆土攻取它。

「倘若你們轉去，離棄我擺在你們面前的律例誡命，去事奉別神，敬拜它們，我就必把以色列人從我賜給他們的地上連根拔起，也必從我面前捨棄那為我名所分別為聖的殿，使它在萬民中成為笑柄，被人譏誚。

因為他們說：「我們要得上帝的住處，作自己的產業。」

『你告訴以色列家，主耶和華如此說：我要使我的聖所被褻瀆，就是你們憑勢力所誇耀、眼裏所喜愛、心中所愛惜的；並且你們所遺留的兒女必倒在刀下。

將他們交在外邦人手裏，恨他們的人就轄制他們。

我們的產業歸陌生人，我們的房屋歸外邦人。

滅命的來到曠野中一切光禿的高地；耶和華的刀從地這邊直到地那邊，盡行殺滅，凡血肉之軀都不得平安。
