They will put on sackcloth and be clothed with terror. Every face will be covered with shame, and every head will be shaved.

底本城的人上到神廟，到他們的邱壇痛哭。摩押人都剃光頭髮，刮掉鬍鬚，為尼波和米底巴城哀號。他們身披麻衣走在街上，房頂和廣場上都傳出號啕大哭的聲音。

我要使你們的節期變為喪禮，叫你們的歡歌變為哀歌。我要使你們都腰束麻布，剃光頭髮；我要使你們傷心欲絕，如喪獨生子；我要使那日成為痛苦的日子。」

又為你剃頭披麻，悲痛哀傷。

她們的香氣將變成臭味，腰帶將變成繩子，美髮將變成禿頭，華服將變成麻衣，美麗的容顏將佈滿羞辱的烙印。

我一想到自己，就心驚膽戰，渾身發抖。

他們都悲哀地剃去髮鬚，割傷雙手，腰束麻布。

我內心悲痛，被死亡的恐怖籠罩。我渾身顫慄，驚恐不已。

太陽下山的時候，亞伯蘭睡得很沉，忽然有可怕的黑暗籠罩著他。

地上的君王、顯貴、將領、富豪、有勢力的、一切奴隸和自由人都躲藏在山洞裡和岩穴間。他們哀求群山和岩石，說：「倒下來遮蓋我們，將我們藏起來吧！我們不敢面對寶座上的那位和羔羊的烈怒啊！因為祂們發烈怒的大日子到了，誰能站得住呢？」

我們躺在自己的羞恥中，讓我們的恥辱遮蓋我們吧！因為我們和我們的祖先都得罪了我們的上帝耶和華，我們自幼至今一直沒有順服我們的上帝耶和華。」

願幸災樂禍的人蒙羞受辱，自高自大的人無地自容！
