Your altars shall become desolate, and your incense altars shall be broken, and I will cast down your slain before your idols.

傾爾祭壇、毀爾偶像、殺以色列族、偶像之前、尸相枕藉、祭壇四周、骨骸散棄、

爾之祭壇必傾圮、爾之日像必毀折、我使爾被殺者仆於爾之偶像前、

Your altars will be demolished and your incense altars will be smashed; and I will slay your people in front of your idols.

Your altars will be torn down. Your incense altars will be smashed. And I will kill your people in front of the statues of your gods.

He also took out of all the cities of Judah the high places and the incense altars. And the kingdom had rest under him.

And I will destroy your high places and cut down your incense altars and cast your dead bodies upon the dead bodies of your idols, and my soul will abhor you.

And the man cried against the altar by the word of the Lord and said,“ O altar, altar, thus says the Lord:‘ Behold, a son shall be born to the house of David, Josiah by name, and he shall sacrifice on you the priests of the high places who make offerings on you, and human bones shall be burned on you.’”

And you shall know that I am the Lord, when their slain lie among their idols around their altars, on every high hill, on all the mountaintops, under every green tree, and under every leafy oak, wherever they offered pleasing aroma to all their idols.

And I will lay the dead bodies of the people of Israel before their idols, and I will scatter your bones around your altars.Wherever you dwell, the cities shall be waste and the high places ruined, so that your altars will be waste and ruined, your idols broken and destroyed, your incense altars cut down, and your works wiped out.

“ At that time, declares the Lord, the bones of the kings of Judah, the bones of its officials, the bones of the priests, the bones of the prophets, and the bones of the inhabitants of Jerusalem shall be brought out of their tombs.And they shall be spread before the sun and the moon and all the host of heaven, which they have loved and served, which they have gone after, and which they have sought and worshiped. And they shall not be gathered or buried. They shall be as dung on the surface of the ground.

And as Josiah turned, he saw the tombs there on the mount. And he sent and took the bones out of the tombs and burned them on the altar and defiled it, according to the word of the Lord that the man of God proclaimed, who had predicted these things.Then he said,“ What is that monument that I see?” And the men of the city told him,“ It is the tomb of the man of God who came from Judah and predicted these things that you have done against the altar at Bethel.”And he said,“ Let him be; let no man move his bones.” So they let his bones alone, with the bones of the prophet who came out of Samaria.And Josiah removed all the shrines also of the high places that were in the cities of Samaria, which kings of Israel had made, provoking the Lord to anger. He did to them according to all that he had done at Bethel.And he sacrificed all the priests of the high places who were there, on the altars, and burned human bones on them. Then he returned to Jerusalem.

And he broke in pieces the pillars and cut down the Asherim and filled their places with the bones of men.

And they chopped down the altars of the Baals in his presence, and he cut down the incense altars that stood above them. And he broke in pieces the Asherim and the carved and the metal images, and he made dust of them and scattered it over the graves of those who had sacrificed to them.He also burned the bones of the priests on their altars and cleansed Judah and Jerusalem.

He shall break the obelisks of Heliopolis, which is in the land of Egypt, and the temples of the gods of Egypt he shall burn with fire.’”
