使你们的祭坛荒废，香坛破裂！我必在你们的偶像面前杀戮以色列人，

爾之祭壇必傾圮、爾之日像必毀折、我使爾被殺者仆於爾之偶像前、

Your altars will be demolished and your incense altars will be smashed; and I will slay your people in front of your idols.

他除掉犹大各城邑的丘坛和香坛，那时国中太平。

我要毁灭你们的丘坛，拆掉你们的香坛，把你们的尸体堆在你们毫无气息的神像上。我厌恶你们。

上帝的仆人奉耶和华的命令向祭坛喊道：“祭坛啊，祭坛啊，耶和华说，必有一子在大卫家出生，他名叫约西亚。他要在你上面杀死这些献祭的祭司，在你上面焚烧人的骨头。”

他们必陈尸于祭坛周围的偶像间，就是他们在各高岗上、山顶上、绿树下和茂密的橡树下烧香祭拜偶像的地方，那时他们必知道我是耶和华。

使他们横尸在你们的偶像面前，骸骨散在祭坛的四周。你们的城邑必沦为废墟，神庙沦为荒场，祭坛荒废，偶像被砸碎，香坛被捣毁，一切必化为乌有。

耶和华说：“那时，犹大王、首领、祭司、先知及耶路撒冷居民的骸骨都要从坟墓中被挖出来，抛散在他们昔日恋慕、供奉、追随、求问、祭拜的日月星辰之下，无人收殓和埋葬，他们好像地上的粪便。

约西亚转身看见山上的坟墓，就派人取出墓中的尸骨，放在那祭坛上焚烧，污渎了那祭坛，应验了耶和华借祂的仆人所说的预言。约西亚问：“我看到的那墓碑是谁的？”那城里的人告诉他：“是上帝仆人的，他曾从犹大来预言你对伯特利祭坛所做的这些事。”他说：“不要动他，不要动他的尸骨。”于是，他们没有动那位先知和撒玛利亚来的先知的尸骨。他拆毁以色列各王从前建在撒玛利亚各城高岗上、惹耶和华发怒的丘坛，就像他在伯特利所做的一样。他在祭坛上杀死那些丘坛的祭司，又在坛上焚烧死人骨头。之后，他返回耶路撒冷。

他砸碎神柱，砍倒亚舍拉神像，用死人骨头填满那些地方。

众人在他面前拆毁巴力的祭坛，他砍掉高高的香坛，又把亚舍拉神像及雕刻和铸造的偶像磨成粉末，撒在祭拜它们之人的坟墓上，把它们祭司的骸骨放在它们的坛上焚烧。这样，他洁净了犹大和耶路撒冷。

他要摧毁埃及太阳神庙的神柱，烧毁埃及的神庙。’”
