And they will know that I am the LORD; I did not threaten to bring this disaster on them without a reason.

使彼知我乃耶和華、昔言降災、要非虛詞。

是時彼則知我乃主、我言降此災於其身、所言非虛、○

And they will know that I am the Lord; I did not threaten in vain to bring this calamity on them.

You will know that I am the Lord. I said I would bring trouble on you. And my warning came true.” ’ ”

And they shall know that I am the Lord. I have not said in vain that I would do this evil to them.”

They will know that I alone am the Lord and that I was serious when I said I would bring this calamity on them.

Then they will know that I am the Lord; I have not said in vain that I would inflict this disaster on them.” ’

And they shall know that I am the Lord; I have not said in vain that I would bring this calamity upon them.”

And they shall know that I am Jehovah: I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.

And they shall know that I[ am] the LORD,[ and that] I have not said in vain that I would do this evil unto them.

They will know that I am the LORD; my threats to bring this catastrophe on them were not empty.’

They will know that I am Yahweh. I have not said in vain that I would do this evil to them.”’

He has carried out his words that he spoke against us and against our rulers by bringing on us a disaster that is so great that nothing like what has been done to Jerusalem has ever been done under all of heaven.

Those who escape the sword will return from the land of Egypt to the land of Judah only few in number, and the whole remnant of Judah, the ones going to the land of Egypt to stay there for a while, will know whose word stands, mine or theirs!

They have contradicted the LORD and insisted,“ It won’t happen. Harm won’t come to us; we won’t see sword or famine.”The prophets become only wind, for the LORD’s word is not in them. This will in fact happen to them.Therefore, this is what the Lord GOD of Armies says: Because you have spoken this word, I am going to make my words become fire in your mouth. These people are the wood, and the fire will consume them.

But didn’t my words and my statutes that I commanded my servants the prophets overtake your ancestors?’” So the people repented and said,“ As the LORD of Armies decided to deal with us for our ways and our deeds, so he has dealt with us.”

Even so, there will be survivors left in it, sons and daughters who will be brought out. Indeed, they will come out to you, and you will observe their conduct and actions. Then you will be consoled about the devastation I have brought on Jerusalem, about all I have brought on it.They will bring you consolation when you see their conduct and actions, and you will know that it was not without cause that I have done what I did to it.” This is the declaration of the Lord GOD.

The slain will fall among you, and you will know that I am the LORD.
