我射出饑荒和毀滅的毒箭的時候，是為了毀滅你們。我要使你們的饑荒加劇，斷絕你們糧食的供應。

那时，我要将灭人、使人饥荒的恶箭，就是射去灭人的，射在你们身上，并要加增你们的饥荒，断绝你们所倚靠的粮食；

我向灭亡的人射出饥荒的恶箭，将它们射出，毁灭你们；那时，我要加重你们的饥荒，断绝你们粮食的供应。

於是撒瑪利亞發生了極大的饑荒，敵軍繼續包圍，以致一個驢頭要賣九百克銀子，兩百克的鴿子糞也值六十克銀子。

看哪！主萬軍之耶和華，快要從耶路撒冷和猶大，除掉人所倚靠的和所倚賴的，就是眾人所倚靠的糧，眾人所倚賴的水；

他拉開了他的弓，立我作箭靶子。

他親自預備了致命的武器，他使所射的箭成為燃燒的箭。

我斷絕你們的糧食來源（“我斷絕你們的糧食來源”直譯是“我要折斷你們糧食的杖”）以後，十個女人要共用一個爐子給你們烤餅，她們配給定量的餅給你們；你們要吃，卻吃不飽。

你不必害怕黑夜的驚恐，或是白日的飛箭；也不必害怕黑暗中流行的瘟疫，或是在正午把人毀滅的毒病。雖有千人仆倒在你的左邊，萬人仆倒在你的右邊，但災害必不臨近你。

“人子啊！如果一國行了不忠的事得罪我，我就必伸手攻擊那國，斷絕那地的糧食，使饑荒臨到那地，使人和牲畜都從那地剪除，
