摩西按着呂便支派的宗族分產業給他們。他們的地界是亞嫩谷邊的亞羅珥和谷中之城，靠近米底巴的整個平原；還有希實本和屬希實本平原的各城，底本、巴末‧巴力、伯‧巴力‧勉、雅雜、基底莫、米法押、基列亭、西比瑪、谷中山岡上的細列‧沙轄、伯‧毗珥、毗斯迦山斜坡、伯‧耶施末；還有平原的各城，和亞摩利王西宏的整個國土。這西宏曾在希實本作王，摩西把他和米甸的族長以未、利金、蘇珥、戶珥、利巴擊殺了；他們都是屬西宏的領袖，曾住在這地。

利亞懷孕生子，給他起名叫呂便，因為她說：「耶和華看見我的苦情，如今我的丈夫必愛我。」

呂便啊，你是我的長子，我的力量，我壯年頭生之子，極有尊榮，權力超羣。你卻放縱如水，必不得居首位；因為你上了你父親的床，你上了我的榻，污辱了它！
