Now these[ are] the names of the tribes. From the north end to the coast of the way of Hethlon, as one goeth to Hamath, Hazarenan, the border of Damascus northward, to the coast of Hamath; for these are his sides east[ and] west; a[ portion for] Dan.

“ These are the tribes, listed by name: At the northern frontier, Dan will have one portion; it will follow the Hethlon road to Lebo Hamath; Hazar Enan and the northern border of Damascus next to Hamath will be part of its border from the east side to the west side.

“ Here are the tribes. They are listed by their names.“ Dan will receive one share of land. It will be at the northern border of Israel. The border will follow the Hethlon road to Lebo Hamath. Hazar Enan will be part of the border. So will the northern border of Damascus next to Hamath. Dan’s northern border will run from east to west.

“ These are the names of the tribes: Beginning at the northern extreme, beside the way of Hethlon to Lebo-hamath, as far as Hazar-enan( which is on the northern border of Damascus over against Hamath), and extending from the east side to the west, Dan, one portion.

“ Here is the list of the tribes of Israel and the territory each is to receive. The territory of Dan is in the extreme north. Its boundary line follows the Hethlon road to Lebo hamath and then runs on to Hazar enan on the border of Damascus, with Hamath to the north. Dan’s territory extends all the way across the land of Israel from east to west.

“ Now these are the names of the tribes: From the northern end, along the road of Hethlon, to Lebo-hamath as far as Hazar-enon, at the northern border of Damascus, alongside Hamath and extending from the eastern side to the sea, will be Dan— one portion.

“ Now these are the names of the tribes: from the northern extremity, beside the way of Hethlon to Lebo hamath, as far as Hazar enan at the border of Damascus, toward the north beside Hamath, running from east to west, Dan, one portion.

“ Now these are the names of the tribes: From the northern border along the road to Hethlon at the entrance of Hamath, to Hazar Enan, the border of Damascus northward, in the direction of Hamath, there shall be one section for Dan from its east to its west side;

“ These are the names of the tribes: From the northern end beside the road of Hethlon to Lebo-hamath, as far as Hazar-enan( which is on the border of Damascus, toward the north beside Hamath), extending from the east side to the west, Dan will have one portion.

“ Now these are the names of the tribes: From the north end, beside the way of Hethlon to the entrance of Hamath, Hazar Enan at the border of Damascus, northward beside Hamath( and they shall have their sides east and west), Dan, one portion.

And this[ shall be] the border of the land toward the north side, from the great sea, the way of Hethlon, as men go to Zedad;Hamath, Berothah, Sibraim, which[ is] between the border of Damascus and the border of Hamath; Hazarhatticon, which[ is] by the coast of Hauran.And the border from the sea shall be Hazarenan, the border of Damascus, and the north northward, and the border of Hamath. And[ this is] the north side.

[ And] the seventh lot came out for the tribe of the children of Dan according to their families.And the coast of their inheritance was Zorah, and Eshtaol, and Irshemesh,And Shaalabbin, and Ajalon, and Jethlah,And Elon, and Thimnathah, and Ekron,And Eltekeh, and Gibbethon, and Baalath,And Jehud, and Beneberak, and Gathrimmon,And Mejarkon, and Rakkon, with the border before Japho.And the coast of the children of Dan went out[ too little] for them: therefore the children of Dan went up to fight against Leshem, and took it, and smote it with the edge of the sword, and possessed it, and dwelt therein, and called Leshem, Dan, after the name of Dan their father.

And I heard the number of them which were sealed:[ and there were] sealed an hundred[ and] forty[ and] four thousand of all the tribes of the children of Israel.Of the tribe of Juda[ were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Reuben[ were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Gad[ were] sealed twelve thousand.Of the tribe of Aser[ were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Nepthalim[ were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Manasses[ were] sealed twelve thousand.Of the tribe of Simeon[ were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Levi[ were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Issachar[ were] sealed twelve thousand.Of the tribe of Zabulon[ were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Joseph[ were] sealed twelve thousand. Of the tribe of Benjamin[ were] sealed twelve thousand.

Is it not lawful for me to do what I will with mine own? Is thine eye evil, because I am good?So the last shall be first, and the first last: for many be called, but few chosen.

Now these[ are] the names of the children of Israel, which came into Egypt; every man and his household came with Jacob.Reuben, Simeon, Levi, and Judah,Issachar, Zebulun, and Benjamin,Dan, and Naphtali, Gad, and Asher.And all the souls that came out of the loins of Jacob were seventy souls: for Joseph was in Egypt[ already].

And this shall be your north border: from the great sea ye shall point out for you mount Hor:From mount Hor ye shall point out[ your border] unto the entrance of Hamath; and the goings forth of the border shall be to Zedad:And the border shall go on to Ziphron, and the goings out of it shall be at Hazarenan: this shall be your north border.

And these[ are] the names of the men that shall stand with you: of[ the tribe of] Reuben; Elizur the son of Shedeur.Of Simeon; Shelumiel the son of Zurishaddai.Of Judah; Nahshon the son of Amminadab.Of Issachar; Nethaneel the son of Zuar.Of Zebulun; Eliab the son of Helon.Of the children of Joseph: of Ephraim; Elishama the son of Ammihud: of Manasseh; Gamaliel the son of Pedahzur.Of Benjamin; Abidan the son of Gideoni.Of Dan; Ahiezer the son of Ammishaddai.Of Asher; Pagiel the son of Ocran.Of Gad; Eliasaph the son of Deuel.Of Naphtali; Ahira the son of Enan.

And the children of Dan went their way: and when Micah saw that they[ were] too strong for him, he turned and went back unto his house.And they took[ the things] which Micah had made, and the priest which he had, and came unto Laish, unto a people[ that were] at quiet and secure: and they smote them with the edge of the sword, and burnt the city with fire.And[ there was] no deliverer, because it[ was] far from Zidon, and they had no business with[ any] man; and it was in the valley that[ lieth] by Bethrehob. And they built a city, and dwelt therein.And they called the name of the city Dan, after the name of Dan their father, who was born unto Israel: howbeit the name of the city[ was] Laish at the first.

Whereupon the king took counsel, and made two calves[ of] gold, and said unto them, It is too much for you to go up to Jerusalem: behold thy gods, O Israel, which brought thee up out of the land of Egypt.And he set the one in Bethel, and the other put he in Dan.

The west side also[ shall be] the great sea from the border, till a man come over against Hamath. This[ is] the west side.

For the king said to Joab the captain of the host, which[ was] with him, Go now through all the tribes of Israel, from Dan even to Beersheba, and number ye the people, that I may know the number of the people.

And she said, Behold my maid Bilhah, go in unto her; and she shall bear upon my knees, that I may also have children by her.And she gave him Bilhah her handmaid to wife: and Jacob went in unto her.And Bilhah conceived, and bare Jacob a son.And Rachel said, God hath judged me, and hath also heard my voice, and hath given me a son: therefore called she his name Dan.

And these[ were] their names: of the tribe of Reuben, Shammua the son of Zaccur.Of the tribe of Simeon, Shaphat the son of Hori.Of the tribe of Judah, Caleb the son of Jephunneh.Of the tribe of Issachar, Igal the son of Joseph.Of the tribe of Ephraim, Oshea the son of Nun.Of the tribe of Benjamin, Palti the son of Raphu.Of the tribe of Zebulun, Gaddiel the son of Sodi.Of the tribe of Joseph,[ namely], of the tribe of Manasseh, Gaddi the son of Susi.Of the tribe of Dan, Ammiel the son of Gemalli.Of the tribe of Asher, Sethur the son of Michael.Of the tribe of Naphtali, Nahbi the son of Vophsi.Of the tribe of Gad, Geuel the son of Machi.
